The lodge was beautifully positioned with a view of the lake from the spacious decking. Kitchen was well equipped and beds were very comfy. I loved listening to the birds in the morning and my daily evening walks with the dog and children down by the lake. So peaceful and relaxing. We even managed to try paddle boarding and the reception staff were very helpful! It got hot during the day as it’s glass fronted but there were 2 fans provided which really helped us to stay cool. Beautiful lodge in fantastic peaceful surroundings we will definitely be returning!

Just on the way home from the most fantastic stay at Julie’s lodge in Bassenthwaite!The lodge was beautiful and had everything you need, and the location was absolutely stunning !Without a doubt a definite 10/10 If you book this lodge you will not be disappointed.

This was our 3rd time booking the lodge and once again it did not disappoint. The lodge was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and had spectacular views. Communication throughout was excellent, and the wine was such a lovely touch — we really appreciated it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Looking forward to booking again!

The hosts were excellent every time I spoke to Julie she contacted me straight away. The lodge was just beautiful and surroundings. The lodge had every comfort one needs when you go away. It was warm, comfy , and spotless. And we had a lovely bottle of wine and brewing up facilities plus biscuits who left for us what more could you ask for and talk. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to come again .

We had no power, water or heat from 8.45 the first night until a fuse was purchased from Carlisle the next morning. It was freezing cold and couldn’t even flush the toilet. We had to go out far earlier than planned in order to have a drink and breakfast and get warm. Owner says it wasn’t their fault so no recompense due despite two requests and no answer to our second request.
