Orchid Blue: Beach Side Accommodation on Fraser Island (K'gari) for up to 20

Perched on the eastern slope of Orchid Beach, Orchid Blue is a massive, functional three-level pole-home built to maximise your Fraser Island (K'gari) experience. Designed for large groups and multi-family trips, this house offers a comfortable, well-equipped base for your next adventure.
The Space: Room to Breathe

The layout is spread across four levels so the crew can socialise together without being cramped.

Ground Level: Features a fully fenced yard surrounded by the privacy of lush tropical gardens. This area is built for afternoon sessions with an outdoor firepit, a massive outdoor table and chairs, and festoon lighting for added ambience. Easy parking for up to 6 vehicles.

Level 1: A self-contained space featuring 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a living/dining area that opens onto a wrap-around balcony with bushland views and its own Weber BBQ. This level also includes a bathroom and a separate entrance for the laundry and an additional second toilet.

Level 2: This level features vaulted ceilings and a large deck built for entertaining, complete with raised tables, Bar seating, a dedicated drinks fridge in arms reach, and a second Weber BBQ. Inside, the space includes a massive dining table and lounge room, along with two Queen bedrooms and the large well equipped main kitchen area.

Level 3 (The Loft & Observation Deck): Accessed via a spiral staircase, this high-ceilinged loft features 5 single beds—a favourite for kids and teenagers. This level opens onto the Observation Deck, the highest point of the house, offering massive 180-degree views from Waddy Point to Sandy Cape. This is the premier spot for watching the whales passing by and incredible stargazing at night.

Massive Cold Storage: Totaling over 1,100L of fridge/freezer space plus a dedicated deep freezer—plenty of room for a week's worth of food and the catch of the day.

The kitchens were a bit dirty and there were a few things that needed attention like having enough working cooking utensils and one of the toasters didn't work.It would have been awesome to have a clothes line for so many people having wet togs and towels every day.Loved that there was aleady toilet paper and hand soap in the bathroom and thanks for the chocolates!

Perfect beach house

We come to Fraser every year but this was our first time staying at Orchid. The location was perfect and the house had everything you could need. We had a couple of families and couples and it suited all of us. Can’t wait to come back!

Location and layout was perfect for our 7 adults and 5 children across 3 families. General cleanliness was lacking upon arrival, but ample supplies were available to maintain the property during our stay. Positioning of bbqs could be better, as prevailing SE weather conditions affected cooking. Utensils drawer was overloaded, frypans were caked with built up grease. Beds were very comfortable. Future guests be wary of leaving entrance doors on level 1 open. We were visited by a 3-4 foot goanna who we named "Larry the Lizard". He wandered in and I don't know who got the biggest fright; him or me. In general, we had a terrific time, and would consider booking again.

Stunning views

The home is absoutely beautiful and the views are to die for! We were made to feel very welcome and the hosts truly now how to make you feel at home. We had everything we needed and more. If you have a couple of families or a big family like mine, you won't regret your decision to stay here. It's truly is an amazing place.

Friends Gathered for 50th Birthday Celebration

This house was perfect for our group of 12, plenty of bedding options and enough seating for us all. With 2 level we never felt cramped or on top of each other. We all enjoyed our holiday at the Orchid Blue house and highly recommend this accommodation. We will definitely book again.

This is a large 3 level home that is ideal for two to three families to comfortably share. The advert is accurate and the house is well presented and clean. The decks offer plenty of space relax outdoors as well as the large front yard with fire place. Karly and Family communicate well and are excellent hosts. Orchid Beach can be got and miss with accomodation - This house is a hit! We will be booking for years to come

Relaxing

The house is well setup for a relaxing stay with a large group. The views from the house and the large verandah's provide a wonderful space to pass the time. The house location was only a 5 minute walk to the Trading Post. The Driftwood Bar provided excellent meals. The house has good ventillation and cross breeze as the humidity took a little bit of getting use too. Thoroughly recommend the location for exploring the island and a great place to escape the busy world as the location provided a quiet comfortable environment to enjoy time with family

Family reunion with friends

Orchid Blue is so good we almost want to keep it a secret! Incredible place and wonderful hosts The house is absolutely amazing: fantastic facilities and wonderful views. 15 of us fitted in well with the teenagersi n the loft, the visitors on the second floor and the locals on the first. We were woken by kookaburra, the whales put on a show we could watch from the balconies through the morning. The lorikeets and osprey performed aerobatics with sound through the day, The welcome pack was a bonus and the outdoor fireplace magical. Bring firewood, kindling and a good story or two. We look forward to coming back again. Jane and Mark, family and friends.
