Our Hale Kamaole home has been in the family for over 20 years. The kitchen is bright and well stocked and wood flooring in the main living areas adds warmth to the tropical decor. All linens are provided, including beach towels. We provide free WiFi, cable TV with a VCR/DVD and a washer and dryer. The master bedroom has a king bed and private bathroom. The lower bedroom has a queen bed. There's also a sleeping loft with 2 twin beds.
Located right across from Kamaole III beach, Peace Park and the Kihei/Wailea boat launch, you'll find the location provides easy access to many activities and excursions. You'll even find an activities booking agent at the lower pool in the mornings. Come enjoy our Maui home!

We love the Hale Kamaole! Have vacationed in many units since we started coming in 1994. But I would say that unit 270 did not meet the usual standards that we have come to expect. Kitchen was not well stocked at all, we had to go buy an egg flipper. Didn't really matter as the pans are so worn out that everything stuck like cement. The Inside of the cupboards were grungy and one door was falling off. Beds were comfy though and linens and towels were sufficient. While the unit felt old and worn, it had a great view and is close to the beach.

Hale Kamaole Unit #270, do not book!

The location is excellent as the beach is right across the street and there are restaurants/stores that are easily accessible by just walking. Unit #270 was not dirty but not exactly spotless either. The unit itself not well maintained and needs update for sure. It's dark bc there's not enough appropriate lighting. There was a cabinet door that fell off its hinges as soon as we opened it, it clearly needs to be fixed but was not. Also in the kitchen, we found plates and utensils that were dirty in the drawers that we had to clean ourselves before using. The most gross thing was that there were dark stains (old coffee??) found in a mug. Pots and pans are old and didn't function well for cooking. Knives in the block were dull making them unsafe for use. Chairs on the lanai were old and rusting. Another disappointment is that the beach stuff was very old, needs replacement. Fabric on beach chairs very faded and ripping away plus they were dirty as well. There was even old wrappings of a granola bar in one of the beach chair pockets!! The lanai closet that stored all the beach gear was a total mess, snorkel gear was on the floor and looked like it hadn't been clean from its previous use. Beach umbrella didn't work so it was useless. My family and I still had a great vacation overall but staying in unit #270 was a total disappointment. There was no use complaining about it at the time bc nothing would be done, we had already paid for it, and it wasn't as if we would be given another unit to use since each unit owned privately. If it was a hotel, I definitely would have complained and requested a different room. We made the best out of a ****** living situation and still enjoyed our time in Kihei though. We have always stayed at HALE KAMAOLE each time we've been to Kehei and kept returning bc it was so awesome, there were no issues with the other units we've previously stayed in. So all in all, I rate #270 2/5. Would def not rent this unit again!!!

We have stayed at this location several times in the past. Love the location. Staff are wonderful. However, this time we were in unit #270. This was the worst unit we ever stayed in. The kitchen was severely lacking. Literally had 5 kitchen utensils. Not even as much as an egg flipper! Had 2 frying pans that were so scratched that the enamel was worn off. The pots were burnt black on the bottom. Totally disgusting! In the upstairs bedroom the dresser was an armoire where the sides and doors were ripped off with a mirror plopped on it. The kitchen chairs were so dirty (black and stained) you didn’t dare sit in them. No television in the bedrooms (wasn’t a big deal for me - however every other condo unit we ever stayed in had t.v.’s in the bedroom). None of the living room furniture matched. It was like the furniture was purchased from a garage sale. Different coffee table and two different end tables. The closet outside had nothing but broken junk in it and needs a good cleaning. No boogie boards or cooler. Great location and wonderful staff, but a terrible unit this time!

The unit is in a great location, overlooking the pool with an ocean view, directly opposite Kamaole 3 beach and grassy area.The lanai is comfortable to sit out on all day as doesn’t get direct sun.We had a multigenerational group with ages 2 - 65 so the fact that this unit has been well used suited our circumstances. There have been some renovations like both bathrooms and laminate flooring but some areas are dated, the kitchen appliances could do with updating along with the king and queen beds and quieter air conditioners although this might not be possible in these upper units.The maintenance guy was excellent and quickly repaired the screen door and one of the patio chairs for us on arrival so don’t hesitate to inform the management of anything that requires attention.The lanai storage cupboard contained a good selection of beach toys and 2 usable beach chairs, we bought an umbrella which we left behind for others to use, this cupboard could do with a good clean out and broken equipment removed.Overall we were very happy with our choice and found it good value for Maui but don’t expect a full renovation.

We recently stayed at Hale Kamaole with our three kids. The location is perfect for accessing Kamaole beach and a short easy walk to restaurants and shops. The condo was clean and well-kept with all the amenities you need. My kids loved that we were so close to the pool and beach. Kehei is a short drive to Maalea harbor and Wailea.
