WEEKLY SUMMER SAT-SAT RENTAL 6/15/24— 8/23/24. Classic Outer Banks Saltbox on the "Beach Road" (HWY12) across from the Atlantic Ocean! Our family-friendly cottage is located at Milepost 6 3/4 in the heart of beautiful Kill Devil Hills and within walking or biking distance to eating, entertainment, fishing, and shopping. A great place for families and friends to enjoy fun in the sun or BBQ on the beautiful back deck overlooking the pool and pond.
The deck features a brand new outdoor kitchen with bar and table seating. Catch a game on the outdoor TV or listen to music on the surround sound.
Our Bright Idea was extensively renovated in Spring 2023 adding a game room with pool table, Master Suite with ensuite bathroom, interior staircase to connect both levels, saltwater pool and patio and much more! Upstairs features a cozy living area with recliners, sectional sofa and loveseat with a Smart 55" Television for entertainment. Log into your favorite streaming service using complimentary wifi. A dining area with seating for 10 is adjacent to the well-appointed kitchen and perfect for sharing a meal with friends and family. The kitchen features granite counters, 2 refrigerators, dishwasher and dining and kitchen utensils necessary to prepare a feast!
3 Bedrooms and 2 Baths upstairs. The master features a queen size bed , ensuite bathroom with walk-in tile shower and patio access. A 2nd upstairs bedroom features a queen bed while the 3rd has one twin bed and a pyramid bunk. All bedrooms equipped with ceiling fans and SmartTV. Downstairs features 2BR and 1Bath and washer and dryer. Master Bedroom has Queen size bed while 2nd BR has Bunkloft with full-size mattress on bottom and twin on top. Enjoy a game of pool in the game room or watch your favorite show on the Smart TV.
Our property overlooks a beautiful pond to relax and admire or cast a line and catch some fish! The brand new saltwater pool is fun for the whole family and is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and lighting. 2 outdoor showers are located downstairs for a refreshing rinse after a day in the sand. Beach equipment (buckets, chairs, umbrella, croquet, boogie boards, beach balls) is located in the outside downstairs closet for your convenience!
Reservations require minimum 3-night stay. We welcome all inquiries and prefer to rent to those individuals age 25 and over. Linens (bed sheets and bath towels for 13) are provided for a fee and not optional. Comforters are provided for each bed as well as additional blankets for your comfort. You will need to bring your own beach towels for your stay. Each party is supplied with one roll of toilet paper and paper towels upon arrival.
Booster chair on site.
Check-In is anytime after 4:00p.m. on the designated date and check-out is by 10:00 a.m.

The property is in wonderful shape. We had a problem with the gas grill which was fixed the next day. There was only one coffee cup. We bought disposal cups which served the purpose. There were only six forks which was also inconvenient. Otherwise, the kitchen was stocked with all equipment we needed. The listing should say there are both drip and pod cartridge coffee makers. We brought a pod maker with us but obviously it wasn't needed. Otherwise, this is very nice property located near many restaurants, attractions and the beach.

Amazing experience!
We came for my son's 30th birthday. We all had a great time! Stacy went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and then some. She truly made sure our time was perfect for my son's celebration. The house was clean and cozy. We spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the music from Jolly Roger next door and the view of the pond. I'm looking forward to our next stay at "Our Bright Idea".

Owner very responsive to communications.
Young adults traveled to this house. They were pleased with the location and the outdoor space. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was very clean . Note - that the upstairs (kitchen, living area and two bedrooms) and downstairs (two bedrooms and laundry) are not connected from the inside. This was not a problem for these travelers - but would not be optimal with families with a lot of kids.
