Guest Access:

You will receive a link to an online guest book when it gets close to your arrival date. You will receive the link by email and text. The home has an electronic lock at the bottom level where the cars are parked. A code will be generated into your guest book just before your arrival day.



The Neighborhood:

Poipu Kai is a 70-acre resort community in Poipu. The community consists of seven condo developments with their own swimming pools, an 8-court Poipu Kai Tennis Club, a community pool and hot tub, and the beautiful Green Belt, garden paths connecting the areas of the resort. The resort is between the Hyatt and Shipwreck`s Beach to Brennecke`s and Poipu beaches. Restaurants to walk to are the Grand Hyatt Kauai, the Poipu Bay Golf Course, Kalapaki Joe`s, and Brennecke`s Restaurant.



Getting Around:

When visiting Kauai, we highly recommend renting a car to enhance your experience and give you the freedom to explore the island at your own pace. While there are other transportation options available, such as the Kauai Bus, it's important to note that the bus service may not run as frequently as you might expect.



Having a rental car allows you to easily access all the incredible sights and attractions that Kauai has to offer. From the stunning Na Pali Coast to the breathtaking Waimea Canyon, having your own transportation gives you the flexibility to visit these iconic locations on your own schedule.

All reservations require a 25% payment to hold chosen dates.

PESTS:

Kauai is in a climate that is considered to be both tropical and within a rainforest category, known for its lush flora and fauna. The environmental factors create a situation where pests (insects) are nearly impossible to eradicate from every property constantly. Many bugs fly in when a door is open at night or are simply small enough to come in through screens on windows and sliding doors. For this reason, Koloa Kai engages regular quarterly pest control in every property to keep the pests at bay. Despite these efforts, it is possible to have pests in your property, and if that happens, Koloa Kai will take all measures possible as quickly as possible to mitigate any issues. Any monetary compensation, refunds or discounts will be given solely at the discretion of Koloa Kai and will only be available in situations where the company agrees that an infestation has occurred. Koloa Kai reserves the right to investigate and provide remediation of any pest issue. The mere presence of pests in the property shall not constitute grounds for monetary compensation.



30-DAY MAXIMUM RENTALS:

Koloa Kai LLC provides only short-term rentals with a maximum reservation of 30 days. Each reservation is fully documented and provides for a fixed date and time for check-in and check-out, rental rates, associated fees, and all other requirements required by local and state law. If a guest books consecutive reservations where the check-out and check-in dates are concurrent, then a cleaning fee will be assessed, and a Koloa Kai designated cleaning professional/inspector will have unrestricted access to the property for the purposes of cleaning and inspection of the property. During the time between reservations, described by the check-out time and check-in time specifically, the guests shall vacate the property so that the designated cleaning professional/inspector can conduct a full reservation clean and inspection in accordance with Koloa Kai’s standard practice. Guest access to the property shall be restricted specifically to the date/times of the reservation documentation and may not be extended upon verbal or text message confirmation.

Let me start with the good. The property was clean overall and homey. Now to the negatives. First, the code we were given for the door did not work. We had to call to get a new code, very inconvenient after a 12 hour travel day. Even worse came the next day when I reached out to Koloa Kai. who manages the condo to let them know about the door issue and that the wi-fi was not working, they sent a maintenance man over who after a few knocks walked in unannounced and unexpected while I was naked!! I asked to be told in advance what time so I could be prepared, and was not. This made me feel unsafe and for this reason alone I would not stay at another property Koloa Kai manages. When I asked Koloa Kai is this there norm that they are able to walk into a property without informing the person that is staying there, they said yes it is. They send their maintenance man to knock on the door but if there is no answer, they can just walk in. Secondly I think its important to know that the pic that shows the view does not give the full story. In the pic there are no people and the area looks very peaceful. In real life, there is non-stop people walking right across your view and I would consider this oceanview not oceanfront. There is a 5 minute walk to get to the actual ocean. For an introvert that wanted peace, the nonstop people traffic was not ideal. The air conditioner is only in the bedroom so it's hot elsewhere and the bed is not pillowtop, not super firm but also not soft.

As soon as we walked in the place was just as described! The kitchen was amazing and the view from the lanai was our absolute favorite place to be sunrise and sunset! Poipu sands #513 we couldn't have been more happy with our choice and a huge thank you for the welcome basket and sharing of home for 9 days. It was so close to so many things we were able to enjoy the whole island from this spot. We hope to come back again and we will look for this place !

Location and view are wonderful and we would stay here again because of that. The view and access to Shipwreck Beach make this home special. The condo is very nice and everything you need is provided. But, if you are a person that gets warm, the unit does get hot during the day. We went out early in the morning and came back in the afternoon after the sun was no longer directly on the patio and living area — so it worked for us. There is a portable ac in the bedroom which cools the bedroom with the bedroom door closed at night. A mini split or a portable ac unit in the living area would really be great.Instructions are needed on how to use television. There are 2 remotes and a hand written note that is not clear. It is a beautiful spot!

We absolutely loved it here! We were greeted with such a beautiful and thoughtful anniversary package - including balloons that said happy anniversary. The team also had great communication, got us into our room early, and made sure we had the best time. The views from this place are amazing! Honestly seemed like the best views in the complex. I woke up every morning, made coffee, and walked out onto the beach to view the ocean. This area also makes it very easy to get around, drive to town or walk to town (if you like long walks) and we also went to the Grand Hyatt and used their gym/spa amenities (400 for 5 days for 1 pass) and leveraged their restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. You could see people jumping off from the cliff from our room. Had the best time of my life here. Apartment also had an awesome amount of seasonings, cooking materials, and everything you need to make yourself at home. We loved our week here. If you keep your eyes out, you may also see beautiful geckos outside hiding on the walls, benches, or in the bushes. Saw seals and turtles on the beach outside. So peaceful and what a beautiful warm home.

Such a beautiful, easy place to stay. Walk out the lanai to the beach, the Hayat, and then into a great trail system to hike along the bluffs where you can look down and see turtles in the water.Kitchen is well appointed. Bed is very comfortable. Would stay here again.

Spectacular Sinrises

Wow, fantastic location! Unbelievable sunrise views right from your lanai. Loved running and walking on all the pathways in the neighborhood. Very short walk to the beach. The condo itself was well appointed. No central air but had a unit for the bedroom, so comfortable sleeping.

Perfect view and location

This unit has an incredible view. It's extremely well outfitted with everything to make your stay comfortable. It's a very short walk to the beach as well as the large pool. The staff was immediately responsive to a minor issue with the internet on checkin. I would choose this again the next time I am in Kauai.

Perfect! Great Host and Place

We booked this for our anniversary and the host had a note and little gift greeting us to the place. The room where was outstanding – from the minute we walked in until we left. The lanai overlooks Shipwreck beach, and it was delightful to watch the sun rise every morning. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - very comfortable bed and we loved having the AC for our bedroom at night. We would come back to this unit on future trips.

2024 Kauai

Poipu Sands 513 was the perfect condo for us. Beautiful view of shipwreck beach and the walking path was nice through the Grand Hyatt property. We enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future.

Great visit with friends

We come once a year with friends from Spokane. We were in building 5, they were in building 4. Couldn’t have been easier. Here’s some items to consider: * Door to the bedroom doesn’t stay closed when windows are open. * There a shortage of forks. * Buckles on the extra large swim fins are broken. * We broke a small wine glass. * Would be nice to have a salad spinner. Otherwise perfect.

Even better than expected

This place is amazing. The description doesn’t do it justice. The view is so lovely, and you’re so close to Shipwreck which I think is more beautiful (and less crowded) than Poipu Beach which is a lovely one mile walk. The condo is huge for a 1 bedroom, with 1.5 baths. Kitchen huge and well stocked. Bed is great, bathroom with 2 sinks. Tons of beach gear. Love the ability to open windows for great cross breezes. And the mini AC in bedroom is perfect. Koloa Kai the management company is totally on top of keeping you informed and answering any question. I’ve stayed at a lot of rentals, this is one of the very best.

Poipu Sands Paradise

We usually stay in two bedroom units in this complex, but did one bedroom this time since we were alone. The unit is clean and perfectly located. A few upgrades were suggested to owners and rental agency. This was our first time renting from Koloa Kai and we were very impressed with easy check in and quick responses to our needs. I would recommend this agency to future renters.
