Rooms are clean and come with essentials like razors and toothbrushes and extra chargers. Vouchers for free breakfast buffet are given for every day of stay, and the food is good! One stop from Kyoto station so very convenient. Also walkable to nishiki market and major shopping. Staff was helpful with forwarding luggage to Tokyo. Would stay again

The hotel has modern, clean, and relatively spacious rooms for Japan, and the location is very central with easy access to public transport and shops. However, it doesn’t fully feel like a 4-star property. Storage space is minimal — you can’t even slide a suitcase under the bed, which makes organizing the room tricky. Laundry facilities are few, and staff, while polite, seemed hesitant with English communication. The hotel seems to want to follow a “green” policy, but it felt counterproductive: all toiletries were removed daily, even if unused or barely used. One day I ended up with no shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel in the room, and when I asked reception for a replacement set to be delivered, I was told I had to come down myself. Breakfast is disappointing for a 4-star hotel — there’s only plain coffee, no espresso or cappuccino, and limited variety overall. I’ve stayed in 3-star hotels in Japan with better breakfast options. Overall, good for location and clean, modern rooms, but service and amenity gaps make it feel closer to a mid-range 3-star hotel than a true 4-star.

Love the hotel but not the location...

I read great reviews about this hotel and it really matches my expectations. The room is good size, I was able to open my large luggage to pack. They provide daily housekeeping, filtered water and there is a public bath where you can relax your muscle at the end of the day. I love that you can check the availability of the washing machines and public bath on the tv. The biggest con is the kettle, the outside is made of plastic and when boiling water it kept making weird sound, seems cheaply made. Even though the hotel is great, I may not stay here again because of its locations. It is centrally located, but after travelling a week in Osaka and walking 20k steps a day, I really want to walk as little as possible. I had to take the subway for just one or two stops everyday, which is a waste of time. I may rather stay somewhere closer to Kyoto station or Shijo-dori next time.

Everything was perfect, it had all the amenities you could think of. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was just walking distance from the metro station and the sights around the hotel were beautiful as well. A convenience store next door, was also great to have. The room has smart tv and was more spacious than other hotels in Japan. I would 100% recommend and will be returning on future trips to Japan!
