Stay was paid in full to Expedia. Upon check-in, i was told by staff that Expedia did not pay the hotel the full amount and that i was liable for the balance which i had to pay on the spot. I felt i may have been victim of a scam. I await reimbursement from Expedia. Additionally, "maid service" was provided unaware to me while i was away from the room. No prior mention of this was offered, and it's not something i expect from a hostel type property. Without an in-room or on property safe, this intrusion could pose problems. Beware.

We really enjoyed our stay at Arenal Poshpackers.
Very well located, close to stores and restaurants.
The common areas are very nice, with hammocks, and a pool.
You can have your room cleaned everyday.
You can cook your own meal in the kitchen.
Very friendly staff, especially the maids.
The room are nice and clean. The AC is a bit asthmatic though!

This was a great budget option in the middle of town in La Fortuna. No air conditioning but for the price we enjoyed our stay in this private room in a hostel style stay. The hammocks and pool were a great plus. We used the kitchen every day which was nice to have. The location is what really makes this a great place! It's in the center of town, in the middle of restaurants, bars, and markets. Easy driving to all of the activities near la Fortuna! Overall, great deal for the price!
