We absolutely loved our one night stay here! This historic home is truly a home away from home. Beds were comfortable and the wrap around porch was a delight! We would definitely love to come back!
We spent the night at this lovely home while in town for a family Christmas party. The house was well stocked and Claudia made sure we had everything we needed. We will DEFINITELY come back.
We came down from Grand Rapids to see a concert at Four Winds Casino New Buffalo and decided to stay at the victorian home in Laporte. We loved this beautiful home, our stay was just wonderful and the host is one of the best people I've ever met!
What a fabulous home to stay in! Rich in history & full of all the amenities you could need, provided by the owner. Tandem bike was so fun and the bonfire at night in the yard was a hit with us too! I honestly can't wait to visit again! Highly recommend !
We passed through LaPorte on our way to N. Michigan for one night only, and this listing made it very reasonable to do for our family of six. The fees were very reasonable making it a better value than multiple hotel rooms. Claudia couldn't have been more gracious and we were able to enjoy the nearby main strip and Pine Lake views during our short stay. The house has been well restored and the kids found it very interesting. Enjoy!
Brought the grandkids to my homeland for the week. We did a lot of things in and around LaPorte most of which involved water but when I asked my oldest granddaughter what her favorite part was she said it was the house!
We stayed at this home for a long weekend to attend a softball tournament. Our group included my family with kids and my parents. The home was well appointed for all of us (however, the staircase is steep, which may be a challenge for older guests). The home is spacious with all amenities needed for a large group. Comfortable beds and bathrooms. We had a lovely stay. Claudia went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Sheâs super communicative and made our check in and out a breeze. The home itself is in a lovely neighborhood with beautiful, historic homes. We enjoyed walking/biking the neighborhood in the evening. Iâd highly recommend this home.
Claudia was the most gracious hostess. Her home was beautiful, clean, well stocked. I wished I had been able to stay longer. Quiet neighborhood. Bunnies and birds and I even saw a raccoon scurry down the street!! Close to everything. Old charm is so relaxing!!!
Stayed for a long weekend with my groomsmen/groomswomen for my wedding! The place was absolutely lovely. It was clean, the house is bigger than it seems in the pictures, and Claudia (owner) was super kind and thoughtful. She gave us a wonderful tour of the place when we first checked in and made sure we knew that if we needed literally anything, all we had to do was reach out. Definitely recommend!
My family recently stayed in LaPorte at Claudia's beautiful home! We were visiting family and wanted our own space. The home is lovely, historic and Claudia is a phenomenal hostess. We can't wait to return! Highly recommend this property!
Claudia was great and so accommodating for my family and I! We stayed the night for a nearby wedding we had and the house was great. Would stay again if we ever travel to the area again.
Claudia's place was the perfect spot for our annual family meeting, lovely living room, dining room, and kitchen areas. We enjoyed our stay and loved the history of the spot. Beds were all comfy and the home was clean and fresh for our arrival.
Claudia was a great communicator and basic areas of the house were clean. Other than that, we cannot recommend this property. The online photos were misleading. The air conditioner, dish washer, and bedroom TV did not work properly. The furniture was run down, the house was only partially painted and patched together with poorly done tile, woodworking and wallpaper. There was an odd musty smell that might have come from garage sale items everywhere, especially in the formal living room. My husband and I are experienced rental property hosts. Our opinion is that this old house needs a lot of work to justify the listed price per night.
Claudia is so welcoming and wonderful to work with. The house is so spacious. A fully stocked kitchen with all the items you'd need. It's a very nice and quite neighborhood.
