View from the deck!

The location, the view (extraordinary!) made our stay everything we’d hoped for. The house , though not furnished in a fancy way - was totally adequate, comfortable and well equipped. It has the feel of a loving family place. We want to go back !!

Enjoyed out trip. Thanks for all the work. Paula, Rick, and Tina were all very nice. I was a little worried about when I would receive an updated reservation and instructions about getting in, since we changed from Jewel of Junaluska to Allgood House. The change pleased me very much. I thought it was such a blessing. Since my husband died, it was so nice for us to be going to Lake J and going to a familiar place.

While the property was dated on the inside, as others have said in their reviews, it was clean, orderly, and comfortable. The bedrooms are accommodating to family, with each room (except the master) having more than one bed. The view from the deck is relaxing and beautiful, with direct sunrise views. The lake has a walking trail that goes all the way around which was good for morning and evening strolls. The people we met along the way were very pleasant and friendly. We did not spend too many hours at the cabin though. What we liked the most was that this cabin is centrally located to amazing areas. We were able to enjoy Bryson city, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Highlands, Water Rock Knob, the blue ridge parkway, Asheville, Black Mountain, and Catawba falls, all from this resting point. Having a family, it was nice that there was a grocery store near by and many places to eat. All in all, we ate, we shopped, we hiked, we took in sunrise and sunset views, and just had a great overall vacation from this point.

Great place to relax

The house is comfortable and the deck is great, the views of the lake and area are beautiful. I took a lot of photos from the deck. And the walking trail around the lake is wonderful. Highly recommend
