2023-24 LAKE DRAWDOWN SCHEDULE

On 7/26/23, Town Council has approved a revised drawdown schedule based on the needs of the contractors.
The plan for the next Lake Drawdown is 1/1/24 - 3/31/24.

The Lake will be drawn down by 12 feet. The purpose of the Lake drawdown is to allow for the completion of priority infrastructure projects including the sewer system replacement project including the Gravity Lift System (GLS) in the North end of Sunset Cove, dredging, seawall and boathouse construction/maintenance, dam and hydroelectric plant maintenance, and sewer cleaning and maintenance. UPDATE: lake started refilling on 3/31/2024

Cute place?

Overall we really liked the place! Pics are accurate, nice kitchen area and bedroom. The outdoor space needs a good cleaning and you should BYO chairs. We didn’t spend a lot of time out there because it needs a power wash and overall deep cleaning. Great location!

Beautiful View

This is a great little property on Lake Lure. It has Everything you need and clean inside. I rated it a 4 on cleanliness because the deck was covered with leaves and we had to blow before we could enjoy it. We Would stay here again.

Nice getaway!

Cozy little lake house! We had a great time at Lake Lure. Although property is listed as “pet friendly”
 we would not recommend bringing pup. Only because there is very little grass area and very close to road. Very limited parking.

Lakefront Access and Everything Needed!

We had a wonderful weekend over Labor Day at this lakefront cottage! The home was well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay, and has been updated with amenities. We were able to rent a boat and dock it at the property which was a plus! We will definitely stay again!

Cozy Getaway!

Home was clean, cute and cozy. We enjoyed our stay. A relaxing, peaceful week. Would love to see more (comfortable) furnishings on the deck to enjoy the outside space a bit more.

Anniversary Get-Away

My wife and I just returned from a short anniversary get-away to Lake Lure and Waters Edge Hideaway, and overall we enjoyed our stay. Pros - At only 640 square feet on two levels, the size made the accommodations "cozy" - but they were adequate for us for our brief 2-night stay. - Property management was very responsive to our inquiries as we prepared for our visit. - Everything was clean, fresh, and well kept. - The cottage was well stocked with all of the basic necessities, and there was a grocery store relatively close. - The queen bed was quite comfortable. - The waterfront location and large deck over the water were outstanding Cons - The property was located directly (and I do mean directly) on the main road. This meant a lot of traffic and road noise right outside the cottage. - The limited parking area was wedged in a very tight area between the cottage and the busy road. This was a concern and a challenge throughout our stay. Overall, we would give our stay a rating of 4.4 out of 5.

Lake Lure Vacation

We loved this little cabin. It was just big enough for our family of four and we really enjoyed the outdoor space. The only problem we had was with all the ants in the kitchen. There was an ant trap on the counter but there were still ants all over the counter top.

Ideal for 1 or 2 people - property as described

Overall was a good choice for me, as I was by myself and it was before 'the season' begins. Located on main hwy to town which has pro's and con's. Updated décor and nice amenities (thick towels, Kcups provided, etc.) Property manager was easy to communicate with and responsive.
