The lodge was not clean enough and the room accessories and electrical appliances were obsolete. The swiming pool was out of order and very dirty. The area of the Tahoe lake is beautiful and the private beach close to the lodge very convenient, clean and safe. One plus for this lodge is the possibility to get a voucher to have a low price fee for this private beach.

Beware, inexpensive place but you get what you pay for. Dirty, depressing place. Only stayed because there was no other option. Paid extra for a kitchen. This 'upgrade' included 1 coffee cup, 1 fork, 1 steak knife, 3 eating spoons (2 of which were dirty - I gave them to manager who was indifferent and didn't have them replaced; so really, 1 spoon), 2 cooking utensils in a dirty plastic cup that had a dead fly inside, a two-burner electric stove (1 heating element did not work, so really, one-burner stove), a refrigerator that froze everything, 3 dinner plates, 5 coffee plates but 1 coffee cup, 1 pan, 1 pot; no bowls, glasses, kitchen nor paper towels, knife, cutting board nor any other standard utensils. Crumbs and stains everywhere, the shelf liners were filthy and stained. Linoleum flooring badly stained, should be replaced. Bed pillows were lumpy and bedding was thin and thread-bare. Pool was murky and pool area very depressing. Grounds were equally depressing and not at all like the photos show. The good: convenient laundry (1 washer and 1 dryer) onsite, ice machine (but no ice bucket; had to use a cooking pot) Lobby looks decent, easy parking, good location, strong water flow in shower with hot water, mattress comfortable, inexpensive to stay (but you get what you pay for)

We got the wrong room initially and then when we got the right room, the bed looked like it hadn’t been made. The room and the outside of the place looked outdated and not like what the picture showed.

The room was spacious, that added to the sense of openness. However, the bed left much to be desired; the mattress was old and lacked comfort, making restful sleep a challenge. The thin walls allowed every sound from the neighboring rooms to seep through, turning the space into a cacophony of voices and footsteps at all hours. The television, while equipped with a full cable package, produced a thin, tinny sound that detracted from any enjoyment of its programming. Additionally, the room could benefit from improved lighting; it only had two small lamps that barely illuminated half of the space, casting shadows that seemed to linger in the corners. Overall, the room had potential but fell short in several key areas.

This is an older property, but they are working on fixing it up. Our unit had newer floors (laminate) which was nice. We were not expecting anything fancy for a quick trip and it was absolutely fine. The management was appreciative when I pointed out a couple of things that needed replacing (one of the lightbulbs in the vanity needed to be replaced but it was still plenty bright. If we went up again for a short stay, I would return. It isn’t as fancy as the casinos and large hotels but for the price, well worth it.

We loved our stay at Big Pines Mountain House. Our Check in was easy and room we got was impeccably clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly throughout our stay. Room had a microwave, coffee maker and other handy amenities needed for our stay. Location was great you can walk everywhere.

I really liked my recent stay at Big Pines Mountain House. Hotel location was very convenient and walkable to many attraction. Clean room, comfortable beds and spotless bathroom. We had a wonderful time staying at Big Pines Mountain house. We were welcomed by friendly front desk staff and check in was quick. Room we got was on second floor with a partial view of mountains which we fully cherished. Room was spotless and comfortable. We also appreciate the amenities provided which made our stay more comfortable and location was also very convenient walking distance to everything.

We got a great deal as the property was conveniently located with clean and comfortable rooms and includes amenities like Flat tv , microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, iron board and all other amenities you need to make your stay comfortable. Front desk staff was also nice and gave us a hazzled free check in and check out. We would surely come back!

We got early check in on request. Front desk guy was very friendly and accomodation. Room was clean and comfortable just as we wanted. Bathroom was clean and shower pressure was great, housekeeping did a great job. Adequate lighting in room with a working desk. Location was central and walking distance from all activities.
