This hotel was such a great value for what I paid and basically amounted to a real 1-bedroom apartment. It's located very close to the town centre and had both comfortable accommodation and great amenities.

Our room was the smallest we have ever stayed in. We couldn’t even open our cases, had to put them on the bed. Really hot and we were on the ground floor so didn’t feel happy opening the window and the air con didn’t seem to work. Second night some really noisy people arrived upstairs. Couldn’t lock the door from the inside. Don’t expect your room to look like the picture on the website, only a couple on the water, we had no view. All that said it was clean and comfortable bed

Property was in a good spot for walking into the main town centre. Felt good choices were a little lacking in Lake Tekapo. Beautiful town and we did some great activities whilst we were there.

Property okay, service good. TV and heater not working properly. Would have been better with bathroom on top floor and extra bathroom and drying area. Glad I didn’t have wet skiing equipment to dry.

Tiny, Cold, Overpriced and Uncomfortable

Room was very small with only about 12'' on either side and at the front of the bed. Not even enough room to set up your luggage, they have to stay closed and you are tripping over them to get to the bathroom. There is very little insulation and air leaks in around the window so room is always cold no matter how high you turn the thermostat up. Toilet seat is frigid therefore very uncomfortable to use! Bed is very uncomfortable (hard) although pillows are good. Parking out front is for 6 cars however no markings and one of the other rooms parked in between 2 spots so we did not have a parking spot available. They either need to put markers up or monitor the parking areas to ensure cars are far enough over so others do not have to walk a distance to get to their rooms. Overall, room was way overpriced and certainly not worth more than $100 a night (actual winter price is 2.5 times that!).

We like this property and have stayed there before. Unfortunately we ended up in a room with an awful smell. After opening the door to circulate some air we discovered the smell was coming from the heat pump so turned this off which made for a rather cold night. The staff and the food were great and we will definitely stay again.

Nice views, but that's about it

We tried to check in an hour after the earliest check-in time and our room still was not ready. So we could not actually check in until after 4pm. The room itself was tidy, but with the living upstairs and bedroom downstairs, we had to walk very carefully after our daughter went to bed, because the floor creaked a bit. We could hear our neighbours quite clearly at night, so there was not much sound proofing. Bathroom was small and cramped. The upstairs living space was big and the view was amazing - I guess that is what we were paying for here because the rest of the place was like any average 3 star motel.
