We were charged for the room before we arrived, was supposed to be pay at the property and I was wanting to use a different card than I reserved it with. Original room smelled like sewer gas, the nice young man at the desk upgraded our room and put us in a very nice suite. So overall it was a pleasant experience.
The curtain in our room is almost falling off the wall and the toilet paper holder is ready to fall off the wall in the bathroom. The restaurant was awesome. Best steak we have ever had. Our server, I believe his name was Alexander was simply delightful
I remember driving by this hotel/motel many times as a kid. They owners have put a lot of work into it to up date it. The bar and restaurant are really nice. The breakfast is good. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.
It is a nice place to stay if you are traveling through Lamar.
After two weeks of traveling and staying in chain hotel, this was such a great place. It has been recently remodeled and was well done! The rooms are huge, very clean and the beds and pillows are comfortable. The small kitchen area in our room (King suite) had a nice small refrigerator that actually has a separate freezer section. We could refreeze our cooler ice packs. The on site restaurant and bar serve great food and cocktails. We had a wonderful dinner. Note that there is no elevator. We had a ton of luggage and had to haul it up a flight of steep stairs. This wasnât an issue for us but if stairs are a problem be sure to request the first floor. Additionally, there is no closet at all. Again not a problem for us as ours was just a one night stay, but if you need to unpack for a few days this could be a problem. Great place overall.
Unaware that this hotel didnât have an elevator & the a/c was inadequate & difficult to deal with as the unit is on the ceiling. The picture of the room that we booked was not what we were given. The room was nice but expected a patio outside for seating.
This is a very unique property in a good way. On a Sunday the restaurant/bar was closed, but looked like a fun place. Our room was wonderful, however we were not aware that it required a large flight of stairs to reach the suite. My disappointment was that there was no one at the front desk to check us in. All attempts to contact help was met with an unanswered phone with a full voicemail. Breakfast was very good and presented well.
We stayed here many years ago and it was a total dive. The remodel and upgrades they have done are top notch. It's well worth a retry if you haven't been in awhile.
