Yellow Water

The water at the resort is yellow. The toilet water is yellow. When you open the shower brown yellow water comes out. The beds are hard and old. The front desk was not courteous. The cleaning staff came and changed the towels only, didn’t do the beds, or cleaned. They were in the hallway and we asked and they didn’t have an answer. The pool is green, probably due to the yellow water and has so much chlorine it hurt my kids eyes and made their skin itch. Overall the hotel is old and outdated. Not much to eat nearby, you have to get in the car and drive for 7-10mins over the bridge.

Room looks like it wasn’t cleaned. The shower tub is dirty and drains so slow. The sink drains so slow too to the point that you have to stop the water flow and wait awhile for the water to drain.

Room was okay. Bathroom was not the best. Tub was dirty and sinks were run down. There was a piece a paper left and they never picked up even when they cleaned our room. Bathroom definitely needed work. The surrounding areas were run down. Smelled. Staff used the same elevators which is fine but no ever greeted you. Not even a hello. They would take roll away beds up to other rooms. Hospitality was just lost.

HORRIBLE ROULETTE DEALER

We have been coming to the Avi every year for the past 7 years! Always a great time! I had a horrible experience this Saturday 8/9 with the roulette table dealer at about 8 pm. It was a lady who was so disrespectful and rude! Made my entire experience playing trying to enjoy my hard word earned money! She would slam the chips on the table and was rude that we needed to understand the game more. The dealer before her JOE was so thoughtful and was helping us all to play! being patient and kind. We were spending money there and when this lady dealer arrived within 4 minutes of playing and tolerating her rudeness I made her cash me out. I let the person who is behind her making change know that this lady was so rude! Please treat your employees to do better!

The reception staff seemed unfriendly, Kevin the Bellhop was amazing and the bright spot in an overall below average stay. The room was not very clean and the pool and beach were overcrowded and the water quality was not great to cloudy and greenish in the adult pool area. The pool area was filled with people eating around the pool edge and leaving their garbage sitting around. My guests from Germany were surprised that hardly anyone spoke English around us and we felt a bit out of place. They casino staff did not let my German guests gamble since they didn’t except their national identification card which is in multiple languages including English. I will not be returning. The cafe restaurant food was pretty good which was another positive.

The room was clean and the staff was nice at the bars. The only downside was for those that rented the palapas the view and even access to the beach was obstructed with all the canopy’s that were allowed at the beach. They should allow umbrellas but canopies was a bit much. Other than that the place was good.
