I stayed at the new hostel on King Street that replaced the old building very suddenly. As a result they are still in the process of setting it up but even so it is still welcoming and pleasant. They must've worked really hard to get it ready so quickly. My room and bed were excellent and I imagine nowhere else offers such great value in a major city centre on a Friday night. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were modern and clean and the kitchen offerings were very generous. I enjoyed my coco pops and numerous cups of tea while hungover from a music festival the night before. Check in and departure times and in line with modern habits and I was able to cross the road and get on a bus to continue my journey. Best of all was the guy in charge. He is brilliant and really cares about his guests. This place is excellent now but when it's completed it'll be outstanding. It will be my go to accommodation for events and festivals in or near Leeds city centre
I used it just so I could stay for the night. It did its job. The guy there was dead friendly and showed me around. they seem to be no hot water when I washed my hands did not ask our complaint as I was only there for the night and out all day. Good location.
Highly recommend to young and experienced travelers. We got in and they showed us to our comfortable room. The bathroom and the kitchen were upstairs. It worked for me as I was able to sleep ten hours through the night. It was great to meet friendly travelers and enjoy breakfast and snacks with them. With all the cereal and bread I imagine many nomads have caught up on lost meals.
Really great little hostel, wonderful customer service and super comfy room. The room itself was completely tidy but the shared bathrooms were not - one toilet had water all over the floor and often drops of pee around the outside, the other toilet couldn’t flush so it was just full of toilet paper and pee. Other than the bathroom situation, it’s lovely!
The room itself was next to the back entrance so unfortunately you had people coming in and out at unsociable hours. I had to lock my door as i did not feel safe with presumed guests hanging outside my window late at night.
Cleanliness was not great as my pillow had a long hair on it from the person we stayed before and there were several stains on the duvet/sheets/mattress. The place was a little tired although can appreciate it was a reasonable rate for a Saturday night near the city centre.
Bathrooms were not in the best condition although I did have a warm shower so that was to be commended.
Overall, I think it was reasonable value for money but I would not stay again.
