I was recommended to go to Las Penitas a small surfing village by the locals and it was amazing, I stayed at Hotel Tranquilo and it was all first class, the service, pool, food, music play list and drinks, if you are lucky you will meet the owners Jack and Carmen, they go above and beyond. I highly recommend it.

Any place on the beach is going to have a great feeling. The air, sound of the waves, and relaxing atmosphere are soothing. This place puts you there. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was good but not great. The room was comfortable, clean, quaint, and functional with the amenities you’d expect at a hotel.

I had rigorously traveled around Nicaragua for the week prior to my stay at Hotel Tranquilo. I craved some much needed recharge time, this place couldn’t have been more perfect! Food was great, rooms were nice, hot water, hosts were second to none. I was even lucky enough to meet and exchange war stories with the owners, great folks, proud owners that care about their property and guests. The beach was great, and clean. I will be back with kiddos next time!

We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay here at Hotel Tranquillo . We had arrived in Las Penitas later than we had expected but Carmen reached out to make sure everything was okay . You can really tell Carmen and Jack really care about their guests and want to ensure that they feel accommodated and welcomed . The hotel grounds are beautiful . Quaint and feel like a little paradise . Rooms are spacious and so nicely decorated . It was very hot the days we were there but the property had many shaded areas you could sit and relax or play many of the games they have there at your leisure. Food was really good . The gallopinto had everyone raving & the drinks were 10/10. We were travelling with two other families we all left with the consensus of truly enjoying our stay and any chit chats we had with Carmen and Jack . We would gladly book our stay here next time we are in the area . Thank you so much Jack and Carmen .

This is a calming oasis hidden on a coastal beach town. The area has a private, cozy bed and breakfast feel and the staff was out-of-this-world friendly. It’s got a beautiful pool and sits on the Pacific Ocean.

This hotel was excellent, the lady in charge (Misleydi) was very sweeet, attentive and very helpful in everything, also, an excellent cook. Hotel is beautiful, room was very clean, pool area was big and lots of chairs and tables to choose from to sit and relax by the pool under the umbrellas. I would definitely recommend this place and I will defnitely be going back there.

Awesome hotel!

We stayed at a couple hotels in Las Penitas and this was by far the best hotel. The pool actually had a filter and was very clean compared to the other two hotels that didn't (the pool water was disguisting at those places). This hotel had hot water when you showered, which is not common. Super clean rooms and you can get rooms with up to 4 beds for bigger groups. The property is right smack on the beach, no street to cross. But the best part of the stay -the food was the best we had in our 12 day stay in various parts of Nicaragua. If you have young, picky kids, traveling through Nicaragua is tough. The only thing that is not good about the country is the food but the food at this hotel was the amazing. My 3 kids all ate here, in fact it was the only day they didn't eat pizza on the trip. The staff were very kind and there were plenty of outdoor spaces to sit on the property and relax. When I go back to Las Penitas, I'm definitely going to stay here!
