We stayed here for 6 days, it was a breathtaking vacation. The resort has everything you need, we had planed to rent a car and explore the island yet we were so comfortable here we did not leave! Beach is beautiful, pool is spectacular, and food options are plentiful. Will be back

I we were rudely asked if we were hotel guest because we weren't wearing the bracelet. I get asking if we're guest but could have asked in a nicer way. Made us felt like we snuck in or something.

The property has a semi-private beach (public beach but not as busy as other public beaches). They have a Luau on property, several dining options at the resort and several restaurants/food trucks nearby. It was great and we would definitely stay there again!

Rooms were large and well maintained. Pool area was excellent although wish there had been a little more shade available. Restaurants great. Beach is in a cove but so nice with some great waves for jumping through. Lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend a car if planning to explore the island.

I had amazing interactions with everyone there from the airport shuttle driver to Susan (front desk agent who checked me in) she was lovely! My boyfriend and I visited Kauai in June and we stayed at the Royal Sonesta Resort in Lihue. This resort offers the biggest pool there is on the island and we enjoyed it to the fullest, including the hidden but public hot tubs around the pool. In my opinion these hot tubs were the best part. Easy access to the beach and restaurants, and it has many amenities. We enjoyed our stay at this resort and I recommend it for a fun summer stay with good vibes and weather.

Clean and Relaxing

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sonesta Kauai. It's connected to a Marriott resort, so there are a lot of restaurants and different spaces in which to relax. Our room was updated and clean, though they only provide in-room services every two days. As a vegetarian, there were limited options and our best meals were off the resort. We traveled all over the coastline to many beaches and I'm glad we did. The beach at the resort is fine, but there are a lot better ones elsewhere. The pool is pretty empty early in the mornings and then later in the evenings and I swam laps and relaxed during those times.
