The lady at check in took a bit to acknowledge us, as we stood there waiting. She never looked up and didn’t seem overly friendly. I asked if they’d be having a fire in the huge fireplace there in the lobby and she said she didn’t know if they’d get to it that night. From what I could tell, they were not overly busy. Otherwise, the stay was fine.

This is more of an inn than a hotel. The surroundings are nice but the rooms are very basic and outdated. Our room had a really bad smell, after asking to be cleaned it got just a little better but still had that smell.

The staff were friendly but our room had a smell of urine that we couldn’t find. We didn’t tell them until morning because we arrived late and just wanted to crash. The staff was quite bothered by it though and told us that we should have told them and they could have moved us. The bathroom could have been cleaner, especially the shower.
