The property was excellent, very clean and wonderful space. Comfortable beds and bedding. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for cooking. The deck was huge and a great place to hang out. Nice and quiet at night, the landscaping is really well done so that even though you have neighbors you can't see them at all when you're on the deck. Great location close to several wineries. Really nice host - he went above and beyond on several things when he didn't have to but it was truly appreciated.
We arrived after dark, the property and driveway are on inclines & declines, there werenât any outside lights on when we arrived so it was challenging to get from the car to the front door in the dark. Once inside we were able to turn the inside lights on but not the front porch light or pathway lights. Messaged property manager and he remotely adjusted the front pathway lights to come on after dark however the porch light over the front door never came on. The property is spacious, very clean and well furnished with household items. Only a couple of minor issues - the AC & heating system was not functioning properly so it was chilly in the mornings (we stayed late May early June), and the counter top in the master bedroom bathroom looked like old Formica with a sealer that was peeling.Overall we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.
We just stayed at SkyLand
The house was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Matt is a great host
Very responsive. The hot tub needed more water...no big deal. The beds were comfy and the coffee much appreciated upon arrival. Definitely wanna stay again.
This property served our needs perfectly. While secluded in the mountains, the proximity to local wineries was excellent. Bonus points for the hot tub!
This was a cute getaway for our family. It was clean, had extras like coffee, cereal etc.. it had seasonal decorations, a nice porch and a deer that bedded don for the evening in the back yard. The bedrooms were separate from the kitchen and living area which was nice. You can tell by hr owner tried to make it special. And it was. Thank you.
This is a nice house just north of Linden, VA. The host was responsive to my emails. We had no problems with getting in or with the house in general. The house is heated and cooled with mini-splits. There were auxiliary space heaters in each of the room except the bathrooms. There was plenty of fire wood. The kitchen appliances were quite new and worked well. The fireplace was a bit smoky at times. We enjoyed our Christmas week at this house.
We had a great stay. The house is well stocked with all you need but if you do everything is within a short drive. The drive to the cabin is steep and curvy but the roads are well maintained. We had a 4WD but was not needed. We did a day trip each day we were there so the location is central to many places which is why we chose it. Thank you for a great stay.
This place had everything we wanted and needed (dog friendly). It is well kept, clean and welcoming. The location is tucked away and very peaceful. It is easy to access local attractions. Host is receptive and easy to communicate with, thanks for the great stay!
The cabin is a fun mix of rustic charm and modern convenience, making a lovely spot for a holiday runaway.
The bedrooms are fairly spare, but the beds are super comfortable (king in MBR was awesome). Decor feels casually-high end, and there is evidence of recent upgrades everywhere.
The kitchen is really well stocked, with new appliances (Keurig, regular mini-pot, gas grill, even a Kitchen Aid mixer) and a great variety of utensils, dishes, pots/pans, etc. We also appreciated the large selection of spices on hand.
The fireplace was a cornerstone of our stay, as it was bitter and icy while we were there. It is not converted to gas, but there was a ton of firewood and starter logs provided. The hosts clearly care about their guests' experience, as evidenced by little touches like fairy lights throughout the yard, color-changing electric candles in different rooms, and linens were provided at no extra cost.
The home is on a BEAUTIFUL lot with only a few neighbors (not super close). We did find it very difficult to maneuver the hill on which the house is located, so make sure to have only 4WD or AWD vehicles if ice/snow is expected. The owners were INCREDIBLY responsive and helpful with all of our questions. Again, that they care very much about their guests is obvious.
Finally, the Apple House and Melting Pot Pizza were the only places we went for any other food besides home-cooked, and both were great.
You won't be dissatisfied with this cabin if you're looking for a mountain getaway!
