B & J Sea View | Secluded Klipson Beach Area
Relax and enjoy being at the beach at B and J Sea View! A unique 1980's style vintage home with tons of interesting history. What a great place for summer fun â kite flying, a beach picnic, sunset strolls. You can watch wildlife from the living room -- or winter storms. This is great house for clammer's too! This home is in a secluded part of the Klipsan Beach area with a public trail to the beach nearby. Or take a short drive into Long Beach for restaurants, shopping and other entertainment.
I stayed here with my daughter and my two grandkids ages 4yrs and 20 months. The location is beautiful and private. The house was spacious, accommodating plenty of sleep and play areas. The kitchen had plenty of cooking and serving utensils but you need to bring basics like sugar and condiments. The water has a very heavy sulphur (?) smell and we ended up bringing in bottled water. There were lots of puzzles and games available for the kids which was great. The bathrooms had plenty of towels, TP, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. The view was beautiful with the ocean and wildlife out the back window. A large yard was great for the kids to run around in. While the lawn had been tended to, other areas of the outside of the house were in poor shape and hadn't been cleaned or repaired. It should be mentioned there are 2 flights of steep stairs to get to the main part of the house from the outside. One of the handrails rotted away from the main rail. Areas of the balcony felt sketchy. You can enter through the garage with less stairs leading into the lower level which was nice but the garage was dirty. There were mousetraps noticed and my daughter could hear things scurrying inside the walls in the downstairs bedrooms. We did have a wonderful stay, easy check-in and check-out, though the property is a bit rundown.
Overall stay was excellent! Kitchen supplies could use improvements (pots, pans, baking sheets) wasn't many their to use. Major safety concern is the stair case on the south side that enters the bedroom. Several routed out steps and a few actually broke during our stay. The staircase needs to be repaired/replaced or blocked off for use. The location was perfect, plenty of room outside and we enjoyed our stay overall and would come back.
Love the location & beach access! The house is showing its age in places but was clean. An improvement would be keypad access to the garage, which is a huge amenity for un/loading in the rain and for hanging wet gear. Loved the view, too!
WARNING!! This house is a shame! The owners and the Rental agency should be refunding money to everyone who has fallen for the sham of "Rustic". This house is rotting and old!! So many problems, here are just a few. It's old, rotting and falling apart! The many stairs and deck are hazards. The house is filthy. The windows are old aluminum with mold and filth. The lights don't work, switches to nothing, no light over dining table. Windows that do open don't have screens, allowing Yellow-jackets in the house. Dangerous exposed wiring throughout the house. Old dirty furniture. Sand in beds as though the sheets were not clean from previous stay. Garbage on deck and outside of house. The septic system cant handle the amount of people staying in the house. DO NOT RENT! REFUND OUR MONEY!!
Live White MOLD! Dangerous & disgusting! Bad Galvanized pipes causing boiled egg smelling water!
*Zero Stars* Pulling up to the property it looked nice & was excited for the stay w/ my mom & adult kids for my bday, not knowing the nightmare to come. Starting w/ the floor plan is quirky so you either have to walk up two flights of stairs through the garage to the living/ main area or a from the outside itâs a steep set of stairs with 1 section of the side paneling missing making me nervous w/ our dog that could easily fall from 2nd story, very hazardous! The view is ok due to distant to ocean & location is private. Shades were open when we arrived w/ the sun blaring it was reading 98 degrees inside. Thereâs NO AC & only 2 fans, kitchen window is only 1 w/ a screen so a little air risking the mosquitoes. Definitely a musty smell due to the age which is expected but as we were trying to open up windows we noticed almost all the windows have LIVE WHITE MOLD which can make you very sick! But the worst is their old galvanized pipes. This is not just hard water but it smells like boiled eggs. Just washing your hands with it is gross. We used bottled water even to brush our teeth. 2 of the 6 of us took a shower shortly after arriving not knowing about the water smell, it was so unbearable NO one else showered the remaining time! We love old places w/ history & character. Weâve rented 4 B&B in the last 6 weeks so familiar. We expected âRusticâ but this place is plain disgusting & dangerous! It should be condemned or at least pulled off until itâs safe for people and their pets.
Amazing stay with family at this lovely beach house!
We stayed here as a family of four with two kids (though it can accommodate multiple families) and we hope to be back! We absolutely loved it! The view, the walk to the beach on the trail, the beach itself, and the short drive to town and restaurants were everything we could have wanted.
The house was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Windy and rainy weather were unfortunate but expected for spring time in the Pacific NW.
We stayed here for Thanksgiving break. While I will say that the furnishings and decor were a little quirky and outdated, the view and proximity to the beach more than made up for it! Everyone was able to sleep comfortably. There was plenty of space to cook, visit, and play games. The fact that it's pet friendly was a huge bonus! We really enjoyed our stay.
Downstairs entry from garage has that 70âs entry smell, not entirely unpleasant but it clues the visitor the home is aged. Beautiful view from upstairs living room windows! Pipes are in serious need of replacement as the toilet water was yellow and brushing my teeth was a horrid experience as the taste of rust is very evident. In fact you can smell it when the water is running but I showered in it anyways. They ask that you strip the beds, no issue with that but they also ask that you start a load of towels washing prior to leaving, no problem with that either⊠however there was no laundry soap available. That fact lead to thoughts of â was I using towels and linens not cleaned with soap?â I feel they could have provided a few soap pods if they require you start the cleaning process for them. Despite those minor issues, we all had a good time. It was quiet and comfortable despite needing a bit of TLC. As an aside.. a journal for guests to log into would be a nice addition. I wouldâve enjoyed reading who visited and where they came from.
Super cozy interior, outside seemed a little sketchy until we got inside and felt right at home! We will heavily consider this house again for next year. Would be great for large family or family+friends! Fenced in and dog friendly as well.
The house is 70s vintage so decor is what you might expect. Beds were fine. Water is from a well so if you're not used to hard water, you might want to bring bottled. We thought it was fine for coffee.
4 nights with grandkids. Could walk to beach. Large yard. Secluded. Not fancy. Needs some TLC and thinning out on unneeded items. Need to take some coffee and a hairdryer. Lots of stairs to get everywhere. 30 steps to get to entrance. Other than that it was a pleasant experience.
We were moved to another property a few weeks before due to a maintenance issue, so we actually ended up in Pelican Landing. We had an absolute blast, the property was clean, kitchen stocked with utensils and such. A few kids toys and clamb pipe's in the garage.
We'll be back!
Property needs more than a little update. Deck feels too soft to walk on, pipes need replacing badly as all the water is yellow/brown and stinks in all sinks and bathrooms. General repair needs to be addressed as the doors either do not slide at all or are incredibly difficult to open (one guest was locked in a bathroom within the first hour of being there) All the non-stick pans need to be thrown away as they are all peeling, There was no wine opener just one broken arm off one.
