Relax & recharge at this rural homestead in Los Gatos. Whether you’re here to reconnect with nature, hike the trails, camp under the stars, or explore the Bay Area, May’s Log Cabin Studio offers private luxury accommodation in a rustic mountain setting. With nature trails on-site and the Saratoga Gap down the road you won’t have to go far conveniently located between Silicon Valley & Santa Cruz. The property offers sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, mountains and the the South Bay from 2800ft. Your private apartment is large 504’ square foot, and your deck is 10’x20’. It includes one queen size bed and a convertible full size bed. Your studio apartment is located on the first level of our log cabin and is completely separated by security doors and has its own private deck, outdoor shower, claw foot tub under a curtained cabana and private entrance. Your deck offers romantic views of the Pacific Ocean pond, and the mountains. On the other side the forest and a glimpse of the South Bay 2,800 feet below. You’ll also enjoy watching our large mixed flocks of friendly poultry roaming freely on the upper acreage. Our chickens ducks and especially our geese are very friendly. Our geese were hand raised and hand feed by us so they’ve known only kindness from people. They’re inquisitive, friendly and sensitive birds. They especially love being fed lettuce by hand and will accept it from you very gently. Lily and Roxy are two French Toulouse sisters. They’re very talkative and love to run to people talking loudly. This is how geese talk to each other and people. Tony is our large white German Embden gander, he’s s bit shy and more reserved. He’s very friendly too. Tony is very intelligent and has been observed using sticks and straw as tools. He will also sometimes use sign language on our guests when he wants more lettuce. If lettuce has been handed out but he really wants more. Tony will rear up then silently open and close his mouth, and then touch his head to his chest. He then repeats this signing. When he sees more lettuce arriving he will do it once more and run towards whomever has the lettuce. Your studio offers a chef’s kitchen with all new appliances as well as granite counters with full backsplashes. Unpack your bags in a large walk-in closet with custom shelving and full body mirror. Relax in your floor to ceiling marble bathroom with full body panel shower, heated bidet toilet, lighted Bluetooth mirror and heated floors. Or enjoy a hot bath or shower in your claw foot tub inside your private curtained cabana. You have a complimentary fully stocked bar with mixers and cocktail set. As well as beer wine and various soft drinks. Rainbow colored eggs are supplied by our happy hens. Duck eggs upon request when available. Your kitchen is stocked with: cooking oil, butter, coffee, creamers, eggs, spices, flour, sugar, various mixes including pancake, cookies, muffins, biscuits, and more. Pasta, instant noodles, canned goods, snacks, chips, cookies, tea, creamers, condiments, salad dressings, pizza and pasta sauce, spices, snacks, and the like. Cutlery, pots and pans, storage containers and more. You have a built in granite desk that is the perfect workspace for remote workers. Your queen size platform bed has adjustable color LED lighting in the headboard. May’s private studio apartment and homestead provide a comfortable, and generous space for couples, friends and family. We have provided everything we can think of to make your stay effortless and happy. Also provided are: HD Smart TV, pack-n-play & highchair (upon request), microwave, coffee maker, crockpot, electric fans, gas firepit, flip flops for convenience, and toaster. The couch converts to a full-size bed. You’ll have access to the studio apartment and shared laundry. Private deck and tub cabana, as well as the run of the property. Late check out is available for $25 until noon. :-) We live on-site but are separated by an entire level. This is further separated by a long hallway with locked doors. We are available to assist in any way we can when requested. But we have built this space to provide for maximum guest privacy. We travel too! :-) We want you to experience your stay the way you want. Just text or call us at the number provided upon confirmation, if you need anything. Also guests are always welcome to knock on the front door. Our homestead is located at the end of a private road: Snow Crest Road. We are the last of four properties in a very rural setting. Your studio apartment is over 100 yards away and facing away from our nearest neighbors. This is a working property that we’ve saved from likely demolition. We are two years into its transformation. You may see us working in the upper acreage and tending to our animals, pond and small orchard. We won’t be make much noise but you’ll occasionally see us working on the land. Guest parking is in front of the middle of three garage doors. Additional parking is provided in the large crushed granite driveway and parking area above. Also please note that this is a rural setting. Noise travels. Please be aware that you may hear occasional road noise. You will need a car or bicycles to get around up here. We’ve got ample parking for many cars. Just let us know if there will be more than three vehicles. Ride-share services such Lyft and Uber do service this location as does Uber Eats. However be aware that not all drivers will, so it may take you a couple of tries to get one. We’ve taken Ubers here and further from SFO. Uber Eats as stated does deliver but at a higher rate. Door Dash does deliver here however but it’s complicated and dependent upon you taking extra steps, you’ll need to make your restaurant aware first that you’ll be using them. Nearest services are approximately 18-20 minutes away whether to Saratoga or Boulder Creek. Johnny’s Market in Boulder Creek has the best butcher shop counter around. Finally there are lots of trails on and around the property.
