Luxury farmhouse on Bourbon Trail with hot tub - Bulleit 4 mi - Frankfort 15 mi

In the heart of Kentucky's Bourbon Trail, our 4-bed, 3.5-bath updated craftsman home offers luxury while enjoying nature's beauty. Enjoy stunning sunrises from the front porch. Luxurious furnishings adorn the spacious interior, with a bourbon bar. Unwind in the hot tub under the stars. Kids can explore tree swings, while 2 acres provide ample outdoor space to enjoy.

The main floor features an open concept kitchen, living, and dining area with dining seating for 15 people. The kitchen is fully equipped for all of your cooking needs, including a double oven. Just off the kitchen you will find a large side deck with outdoor dining table and solo stove with Adirondack chairs. Off the back there is a grilling porch and hot tub complete with barn view. The large primary bedroom features a Sleep 8 king bed with ensuite bathroom. Double sinks, three shower heads, and a soaking tub.

Upstairs you will find three additional bedrooms. One ensuite queen bedroom with sitting area, another queen bed with twin daybed and twin trundle, and the third has a queen bed with twin over twin bunks. Enjoy a restful night's sleep on the memory foam mattresses and Slumber Cloud comforters.

The 4 car garage has been converted to a hangout space with bar, two couches, and 85" TV. Please note that this is garage space and while we have made every effort to seal it, it still does get bugs from outside.

Centrally located between Louisville and Lexington, it's the perfect base for bourbon tastings and cultural adventures. Your dream Kentucky getaway awaits!

This property was quiet, great location, beautiful setting, and just right for our group. The layout of this house was very good and kitchen was user friendly. Everyone said the beds were very comfy. I’m always picky about cleanliness and this very cute house was one of the cleanest properties we ever stayed in. We all agreed with that and just how wonderful it was decorated. We would for sure rent it again if ever in the area. I couldn’t figure out the lock one day and they got us in immediately. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay on our family getaway. Almost forgot the front porch was perfect to sit relax and visit. Very shady and breezy plus outside ceiling fans and porch swings. They thought of everything.

Our extended family (4 couples) stayed here for a weekend getaway and it was very nice! Each couple got their own room! All the rooms and main areas were clean and very comfortable. We actually thought the house was nicer than the pictures led on.

Great stay!

The house was great and well stocked. The outside games were a lot of fun. Host was super responsive and addressed a broken grill immediately so we could grill the next day. That was really great. A good home base for exploring caves, rivers, and bourbon.

Beautiful Home in great location!

Our group stayed at the farmhouse during the week of the Kentucky Derby and it was the most ideal spot! It was right in the middle of everything we needed making travel easy. The home was very clean and decorated beautifully! Matt and Carrie were amazing hosts and always very responsive if we needed anything. Everything went incredibly smooth, and our group had an amazing time. If you are looking for a place to stay during Derby week or taking a trip to the Bourbon Trail, this is it! We will surely be back to stay in the future.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything inside the house was very new and it was very clean. The master bed was comfy and the master bath is awesome. The property is in a great location right between Shelbyville & Frankfort making it easy to visit places. Lots of room for our dog to run outside and have fun. We enjoyed the party room as well. I would say the only thing that could be updated is the outside grill-it was pretty rusted and dirty inside. But overall a great stay and we would definitely stay again if in the area.

Exceeded my expectations

This is a beautiful location that blew my family and I away from the initial curb appeal, to the interior design and layout, to the plethora of games and thoughtful inclusions that made our stay feel extra special. The hot tub is fantastic, as is the game room, and all the bedroom and upgraded appliances and fixtures. This is also just down the road from the Bulliet distillery, which is a must-go stop while staying here. Communication with the property manager was excellent. I am definitely impressed with this location and will be looking for other properties owned by this property manager.

We'll be back...

Everything about our visit was just as we hoped and went smoothly. We spent many a morning out on the porch with coffee and quiet, and many an evening in the hot tub enjoying one another after a long day of bourboning, driving idyllic horse-inspired landscapes, and touring horse farms and racetracks. The Bourbon Bootlegger was exactly the space we needed as the homebase for our family adventure. There were 7 of us (4 adults, 3 teens) and more than enough space (and spaces) to spread out and accommodate all of us and our activities. Carrie and Matt were informative and prompt with any questions we had, offering great ideas for where to go and what to do...as responsive as we could have hoped our hosts to be. Thank you for sharing your space, Hays Family! There is no doubt, we'll be back.

A fantastic central KY experience

We had a family trip for Thanksgiving in the area and the Hays home was the perfect spot for my group. The house is spacious, well appointed and has TONS of items to keep a group interested during down times during a stay. Our kids loved the basketball court and tree swings. While we stayed for a holiday vacation to visit family - it's easy to see this as the perfect gathering place for any bourbon trail group trip. It's within striking distance of every great distillery and as mentioned has all the appointments you'd want to relax after a day of touring. Weekend at the Bourbon Trail

We visited the bourbon trail for the first time in Nov. 2023 for my birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bourbon Bootlegger. It was a central location to many great distilleries. (Note its only 7 minutes to Bulliet, and about 25 minutes to Buffalo Trace). The house itself was clean, updated, and very nicely furnished. We spent time enjoying the game room and had a very nice meal as a group of 7 in the dining room. The hosts were great, they were quick to respond and helpful. They even delivered extra firewood when we ran low. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to bourbon country.

Great Bourbon Fall Getaway

Enjoyed our first long weekend down in Bourbon County. Conveniently located to a number of breweries. House was fully stocked from the kitchen to the laundry and bathrooms! The kids loved the swing and the space was great for our group!
