Just outside the centre but right across from one of the temples and next door to the Red Cross massage centre - so quiet location within easy walking distance of the centre. Comfortable bed, good breakfast. The laundry service was excellent too.

Good stay. The hosts were nice and helpful. It was raining during our stay and they provided free umbrellas. They also provide free bike to ride around town. The only negative thing was that there were a quite a few flying insects in our room. It would have been nice if they provided insect repellent inscence or electronic pest repellant in the rooms.

A big let down

Really look forward to staying here unfortunately, a big let down, bed really uncomfy, English breakfast in edible, coffee should have been cafetière but was poured from filter coffee machine so cold , why advertise fresh coffee if you Don’t have it. Building lovely that’s it not worth the money.

Wonderful Stay!

We loved staying here! By far the best hotel we stayed at in Laos. The property is very clean and tidy. The location is perfect - close to everything while still being on a quiet side street. Breakfast is delicious! It is made on demand, with 8 different options to choose from. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and courteous. They arranged our excursions and transportation for us. Would definitely stay here again!

Best Stay in Laos!

Our stay at Maison Vongprachan exceeded our expectations on basically every level. All the basics were on point (clean room, no bugs, A/C worked great, hot water all the time, always felt our belongings were completely safe), but the service we received from the staff made us feel as though we were staying in a 5 star hotel. The young woman who works during the day at the front desk, I believe her name is Hien, was an amazing resource. From arranging a tuk-tuk driver for the day at a rate much lower than we ever could have found on our own, to printing out the Visa we needed for Vietnam (very hard to find a printer in Luang Prabang!), she made what would have been a very good stay in Luang Prabang become an excellent one. The free loaner bicycles, the 24-hour coffee/tea in the lobby area, and very reasonably priced laundry service were also very handy ameneties. The location was also perfect for us--very easy walk to anywhere in town, just a couple blocks from Utopia bar and other cool restaurants, but still felt relatively quiet, being tucked back in an alley. If I'm ever back in Luang Prabang, this will definitely be where I stay!

Great location, great staff

Great location, upper level rooms better , we had 3 different rooms and lower level a little damp, dark and not as good condition, I would also prefer complimentary water not cocoa cola.

A lovely stay at Maison Vongprachan

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at thr hotel. The rooms were of good size, clean and nicely decorated. The shower was amazing, with great water pressure and hot water. The only tip we could give, is to try to stay at rooms closer to the reception area, since there is a chicken pen at the back, and they get very noisy in the morning.

Definitely NOT what it looks like

Not a "hotel", barely even a guest house. Beware the inaccurate advertising about this property. Everything is indeed old, run down, and "quaint". They don't even have phones in the rooms. Breakfast is simple and sincere. Location is alright, neither far nor near. Watch out for the feral dogs roaming the property area at night, they WILL harass you.

Expect a guesthouse, not a hotel

Let's be honest, this is by no means a hotel. It is a guest house, and the property is misleading guests by calling itself anything more. Old and slightly run-down guesthouse property, cleaned diligently. Smallish TV with plenty of local channels and three English-language ones. Bed was clean and comfy. Proprietor is willing to help with restaurant bookings but very reluctant to make a cancellation on such. Bunch of aggressive wild dogs wander around the front of the property at night - beware and be careful. Property is about 10 mins walk from the western end of the night market. About 2 blocks to the local supermarket/grocery. Property does not have any vehicles or transfer service, but you can take a stab at flagging down a tuktuk on the main street. Decent breakfast menu - a wienie, a small slice of ham, and a couple of eggs made to order. No telephones in the rooms and none to borrow from the front desk. Wifi was reliable most of the time but was dodgy every morning over our stay. Shower water pressure and temp are okay. Overall, it's an affordable and decent property, but keep your expectations in check to avoid disappointment. I felt that I got exactly what I paid for.
