Freshwater Cottage - Across from Lake Michigan and minutes from Bass Lake

Perfectly located between Ludington and Pentwater and directly across the street from Lake Michigan, "Freshwater Cottage" is a large cottage featuring two suites with individual kitchens and bathrooms adjoined by a large breezeway and sleeps up to 8 guests. When you book this unique cottage, with a distant view of Lake Michigan, you will have full use of the entire cottage and both suites. The suites are not rented out separately, so you will have the entire cottage to yourself. Suite One offers one bedroom with a queen bed, full bathroom, fully functional kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, dining area, and electric fireplace. Suite Two is a studio with a queen bed and sleeper sofa in the living area and offers a fully functional kitchen, full bathroom and dining area. Additionally, each suite offers a Smart TV and WiFi.

Freshwater Cottage is set on a large private lot offering an abundance of yard space and a turnaround driveway, with plenty of parking for vehicles, RVs and boat trailers. This quiet location is perfect for enjoying outside activities while taking in the surrounding nature. Enjoy peaceful moments gathered on the covered patio while grilling your catch of the day, or beautiful northern Michigan evenings around the fire pit. On rainy afternoons, you will find the 3 seasons sunporch an ideal spot to keep you connected to the great outdoors while being out of the elements.

Freshwater Cottage is the perfect location for close water access and is next to Bortell's. It's only a 5 minute walk to Summit Park which offers a public beach on Lake Michigan, picnic area, tennis and basketball courts, and playground. You'll find this beach perfect for strolling along the picturesque lakeshore, combing for unique rocks and beach glass and taking in the gorgeous sunset. Buttersville Beach and the South Pier are also only minutes away by car with Lake Michigan Beach access for passing the time soaking up the sun.

Bass Lake Outlet is another great location and only a few minutes away by car. This outlet provides a public launch and has an outlet into Lake Michigan. Bass Lake is an all sports lake and is great for kayaking, boating and fishing.

Silver Lake and Mac Dune Rides is 20 minutes away as is golfing at Lakeside Links and dozens of more sports lakes and public access points.

Loved our stay

Great house; perfect if you want two separate sleeping areas and bathrooms. Accessible to Ludington, Pentwater, Lake Michigan, and Bass Lake. It was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Would stay again!

Perfect for our family

We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. Summit park was so close, the little ones loved the Pirate Ship, hanging out at the beach and Sterns Beach in Ludington never disappoints. We loved the proximity to everything we wanted to do. The property was clean and perfect for our family ranging from 3 - 69 years old :)

Spacious,clean and close to Lake Michigan

These two cottages are centrally located between Pentwater and Ludington. We visited beaches in both locations. The surroundings are peaceful, nice fire pit and hammock. The cottages were clean, nicely decorated and have all the amenities needed. One suggestion is to have a picnic table outside. We had beautiful weather and love being outdoors and would have eaten meals outside if there were a picnic table. Loved our stay and would rent again. Thank you!!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a perfect set for what our families needed; individual “units” for each family and we could still spend time together without being in each others space. We had nice fires at the fire pit, took turns swimming on the little tree swing and after the kids went to sleep each night we were able to hang out on the cozy screened in-porch. Each little “apartment” has a portable air conditioner and there are also a few window fans which is nice. A two minute walk down the road is a fish restaurant CASH ONLY and beach access, with a playground and tennis courts are only a 6 minute walk. There were just a few minor cleaning misses but that did not dampen our stay. We will definitely be back next summer but this time for longer.

It's really 2 places in one which gave us space to spread out and come together. It's clean and mostly updated. We had no problems checking in or out. When I tripped a fuse, the property responded quickly and the matter was resolved. Lake Michigan was very lose by, but you cannot see it from the property. The cottage is very private and quiet. I would recommend this reental!
