A Tranquil Summer Escape at Heron’s Nest Cabin on Lummi Island
Tucked into a forested hillside overlooking Bellingham Bay, the Heron’s Nest is a secluded retreat designed for quiet summer days and starry nights. Whether you’re soaking in the cedar hot tub or enjoying an outdoor meal on the deck, this cabin offers a peaceful home base to unwind and connect with nature.
Five Reasons to Stay at Heron’s Nest This Summer:
*Private Forest Setting: Nestled among tall evergreens with filtered bay views, this is the kind of place where you can truly slow down.
*Cedar Hot Tub & Outdoor Shower: Unwind after a hike or beach walk with a soak in the hot tub or a refreshing rinse under the open-sky shower.
*Easy Access, No Crowds: Just a 10-minute ferry ride from Bellingham, Lummi Island feels like a true getaway—without the long drive or long lines.
*Simple Island Adventures: Explore quiet beaches, scenic trails, and local art studios, or bring a kayak to paddle the shoreline (just keep an eye on the tides).
*Outdoor Living: Dine on the deck, read in the shade, or spend evenings around the fire pit—Heron’s Nest is built for enjoying the outdoors.
Late Spring & Summer at Heron’s Nest Cabin
Warm weather brings out the best in this forest retreat. Inside, the open living space features a wood-burning stove for cool nights, comfortable seating for relaxing, and a large dining table with views of the nearby lake. The cabin is well-suited to couples or solo travelers looking for a nature-forward escape.
The outdoor spaces are where the cabin really shines this season. Start your day with a coffee on the covered deck or a rinse in the cedar shower under a clear morning sky. Spend lazy afternoons in the hot tub or with your feet up in a shady spot. The fire pit is a great place to unwind after dinner, especially when the sky starts to fill with stars.
