Relax with the whole family at this peaceful farmhouse in the Shenandoah valley. Surrounded by views this house has everything your family needs. It is a short 10 minute drive to Shenandoah park (Thornton Gap Entrance). It is a quiet, large piece of land with lots of outdoor features (a fire-pit, play set and outdoor lounge swing). Inside includes 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Also a well lit kitchen, dining room and living room. For families we have a pack-in-play and high chair.
Quiet farming neighborhood on the outskirts of Luray. You can take a relaxing stroll by the surrounding farms with horses and cows. It's about a 5 minute drive from Main street where you will find shopping, restaurants and coffee joints. There are small grocery shops close by and Walmart, CVS and Food Lion are a 7 minute drive away. The famous Luray Caverns are also a short 7 minute drive. Beautiful Lake Arrowhead is an 8 minute drive.
Great location. Great stay for Shenandoah NP and Valley.
We had a great time at Erinâs home. It is in a quiet, peaceful setting near Luray and SNP. The listing is very accurate and the home offers plenty of space for group or 7 or 8. We would stay again if we are in the area again.
Our daughter was getting married at a vineyard nearby. The location of our rental was only 3 mi away. The whole house was spotless and comfortable! Our oldest children came from all over the country and it made the occasion doubly special to be able to stay together. The kitchen is well equipped for us to make a huge meal. The master suite is incredible! The road was difficult to see in January, as it appears to be a driveway in the snow rather than a street but once located it was easy to reach.Highly recommend this house for groups and hope to do it again in better weather so the kids can come and enjoy the yard and play set.
The house was exactly as the pictures on the listing. Nice home but there are items that need some attention. I looked back at the reviews on this home and noticed that most of the things that were lacking had been mentioned in 2023. The
Plenty of bedrooms for my entire extended family. Nice country location with a gorgeous view of the mountains & cows. Playset is on the older side and the monkey bars were broken. Overall just a very nice house for our family vacation.
Beyond grateful that I chose this property for our families mini vacation. The house was spotless and so warming and inviting. I didnât even feel like I was at a rental. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Normally most rentals have cheap hard mattressâ but these were like sleeping on clouds. The owner even laid out towels and wash clothes on the beds in each room. Fire pit was a nice little touch for relaxing at the end of the day. There was incredible views of the mountains from the front of the property. I thought the views were nice when we arrived but once the haze lifted, the real beauty of the mountains came to life. Amazing view. Also enjoyed watching all of the cows and calves graze in the evening. Definitely would book this again if we ever come back to the area.
Nice large rooms and very clean. View of mountains and a farm across the street with cows were so pretty. Two things that would make the place better is a set of steak knives and tvs in the bedrooms would be a nice addition.
Myself and 6 others stayed over the weekend for a wedding at Skyland. The location of the property was great, on a private road. About a 20 min drive to Skyline Dr and 10 min to the Luray Caverns. The whole house was nice and open, we had plenty of space with the 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Large and open layout. Thereâs a playhouse for kids, fire pit and grill, AND thereâs cows right across the street. The host was very easy to communicate with, we may be coming back!
This is a very bare bones place with few frills or extras. We loved the fact that there was a high chair and pack n play for our child, but there were things missing/not functioning at expectations. For example, thereâs no wine key or wine glasses. Also the microwave display isnât fully functioning so that led to some challenges with knowing if we had timing right. The ice maker and water dispenser didnât work on the refrigerator, which wasnât a big deal to us, but we would have liked to have had ice.
Thereâs a fun playground area in the backyard that our child loved, but the stability was questionable, and while we were not worried of anything serious happening, I could see some other individuals not feeling comfortable using it. For example, there was a wooden bar that was hanging next to the swing set that had broken in half and was just left in that way. There were stairs leading up to a little tree house that werenât stable and some were broken.
Lastly, the security code to enter was very easy to crack, and our five year old even thought it was a joke. It didnât leave us feeling super secure; however, the area didnât lead me to be too worried about us having any problems. Again, I would consider us more laid back people than most.
The good stuff: LOTS of space, and a functioning Tv. The fire pit is really cute even though it was too hot for us to use. Thereâs adequate cooking stuff and shampoo/conditioner and soap were provided. The AC worked excellently. The loca
We had a wonderful stay! The location was just perfect for our trips into the national park, and the home itself was beautiful and spacious for our family of 6 (5 adults and one teen). It provided the perfect place for our family to relax both inside and outside. The neighborhood is peaceful with a beautiful view, and we enjoyed sitting outside by the fire in the morning while drinking our coffee. Our kids loved the cows across the street! The home included so many little extra touches, and the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen table was large enough to easily seat all of us. Erin was a great host! If we ever return to the area, we would definitely choose to stay here again!
