We have just returned from our trip to Sway in the New Forest. We enjoyed staying at the bungalow. It was very clean and well looked after. The kitchen was one of the best we’ve had staying in the new forest it had everything we needed and plenty of worktop space for prepping meals. We loved the veranda outside - it was a little chilly to sit out the weekend we stayed but we could imagine relaxing there during warmer days. My hubby and I stayed with our dog and there was a great pub within walkable distance - The Hare and Hound which was fantastic for dogs. The bungalow in general is in a super location for walks into the new forest. And even travelling around the new forest itself was easy from the bungalow’s location. The owners thought of lots of things even down to putting blankets in the living room so you can cozy up on the sofa of a night. It really was a lovely trip. I would recommend the property. A tip for future visitors… Phone and Internet signal was difficult in and around the near vicinity of the bungalow which wasn’t an issue once you were on the WiFi but a tip for future visitors is to take a screenshot of the instructions of how to access the house before you arrive as I couldn’t get the messages off the VRBO app when offline. Simon did mention this to me in his message to me but I didn’t twig the need. So thought I’d mention it here for others in the future.

Lovely house, garden and area

The house is very warm and welcoming and well equipped with everything we needed. The garden is beautiful with a fantastic covered dining area which we used every day. The sitting room was comfortable with a good TV and good internet. The bedrooms felt peaceful and the beds are really comfortable. The shower is also lovely, as is the bath.There was a thoughtful little welcome tea tray with tea bags and coffee, plus a book with useful information about the house. There were even little dog biscuits to welcome the dogs.The house was very clean and in a lovely area, with very nice neighbours. Communication with the owners was very good, they messaged with everything we needed and we're quick to respond to any questions I had.We had a fab time and would definitely recommend.

Clean and comfortable

Clean and comfortable bungalow that could be really great if the outside spaces were not so neglected and overgrown. A few minor repairs also required indoors - sitting room door does not close and exterior doors very draughty. There is no heating in the kitchen which got very cold .Overall a good and very well located property with nice touches like the tea/coffee and biscuits which were appreciated.

Lovely bungalow

Stayed for the weekend while visiting family in the New Forest so didn’t spend long in the bungalow or Sway really, but everything was clean and tidy, heating was nice and warm and the back garden had squirrels and birds to watch while eating breakfast! Would book again!

Wonderful stay!

We had a lovely 3 day stay in this beautiful little bungalow in Sway. The bungalow is small but suited our needs of 3 adults one in a wheelchair and 2 nervous rescue dogs. The garden was fully enclosed so our dogs enjoyed the freedom of running about in it and we had lovely weather to spend time in it. We would definatley stay again and we would recommend the Hare and Hound.

Lovely bungalow in the heart of the new forest

Well kitted out bungalow that is dog friendly and has an enclosed garden with covered seating area that is great when weather a bit cooler. Large oak tree though meant loads of acorns so we had to watch our puppy who liked to eat them! Driveway very steep and grounded out on the car but plenty of off road parking.

The property was clean & comfortable. However outside space did not reach standard of photo. Tired - front door wldnt open properly, back garden had a unique charm but let down by very rusty garden bench. Dirty table & chairs. Old rickety bench with mouldy cushions. This spoilt the whole of the outside area. Weeds in the paving which was sitting area.

A great short break

Perfect base from which to explore the New Forest. The house was spotless and comfortable; secure garden for our 2 dogs, and easy access to the coast and Forest/Heath. Excellent local eating establishments. And perfect weather for the week too. Really enjoyed our stay; hope to go back later this year.

I scored 4 not 5 as when we pulled up outside the first impression looked as though it may be slightly run down. Once inside though it was all good, light and clean and had everything we needed. The outside space is lovely but could do with some maintenance and there wasn’t enough comfortable seating for us all to sit outside easily. The location is fab, lovely quiet street, good local pubs and great walks on the doorstep. We were also less than 20 minutes from a great beach. Perfect! I would recommend and go again.
