Elegant 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom property in the shopping district of Madrid, Salamanca:
Excellently located in the heart of the Barrio de Salamanca, this two bedroom apartment is ideal for those seeking to stay in one of the most exclusive areas of Madrid. Restaurants, designer shops, tourist attractions, and an exclusive atmosphere. The streets of Serrano, Jorge Juan and Ortega y Gasset are particularly attractive if you want to visit the best designer boutiques.

A short stroll away is the impressive Plaza de Colón, the Paseo de la Castellana boulevard, and the National Library. The beautiful Retiro park (Madrid's ‘green lung') is within walking distance, and offers a peaceful haven away from the bustle of the city. This is one of the most central and better communicated areas of Madrid, with the underground network, buses and trains close by, something that those wishing to fully explore the city will very much appreciate.

The property is located on the second floor of the building, with a lift to the main door and second lift to the back door in the kitchen, used as service access. The apartment is extremely bright and elegant, and is decorated in a classical style with impeccable taste.

The main entrance leads to a large hall provided with coat cupboards and feature bookcases. The hall gives access to the living room, the kitchen and the bedrooms. The elegant living room has a large window that brings in light during most of the day. The sitting area is perfect for relaxing after a hectic day in Madrid, with two 3-seater sofas, a glass coffee table, and satellite TV. The dining room, bright and cheerful like the rest of the living room, can accommodate up to 6 guests.

The master bedroom is accessed from the living room and has two single beds together (105cm x 200cm), a mahogany writing desk placed in front of the window with views over calle Hermosilla, and two antique bedside tables. The en-suite bathroom has a bathtub and shower. There is also a walk-in dresser.

The second bedroom has two single beds (90cm x 200cm), fitted wardrobes and the use of a full bathroom accessed from the living room.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need during your holiday. It also has a breakfast table and chairs, and a back door as the service entrance.

Great location but terrible apartment

We rented this apartment for one month. We immediately noticed that the apartment was run down, it hadn’t been painted in many years and the furniture was old and uncomfortable. There were cracked tiles on the bathroom floor. Water leaking from the showerhead to the floor. The second bedroom and bathroom are extremely small. Tiny TV sets. Worst of all is the all-night noise right outside the primary bedroom window every night from seemingly endless garbage and bottle collections and deliveries. We had to move to the tiny second bed room to escape and sleep. The property manager was very polite and addressed many issues during our stay. However, she promised us a refund for some portion of our stay because of the inconvenience. My last message from her was two months ago promising me an update. I have not heard back in spite of two attempts to reach her since.

Cozy and comfortable apartment in the best area of Madrid. Easy to walk to shopping and grocery store is literally downstairs! Well-appointed and with A/C which is a must in Madrid's warmer months. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked/maintained. My only caveat is that, as a light sleeper, there are a lot of noises that took getting used to, like trash/recycling collection downstairs and plumbing noises from apartment above. I am a *very* light sleeper though, so normal people might not care, or you might just want a set of earplugs. Still, I would happily stay here again. The property, and its owner, were great!

This place is substantially nicer than the pictures show! It is so spacious, beautifully decorated and well appointed. And the location is perfect, a grocery store right below, lots of great cafes and shops and centrally located to everything. I am saving this listing for my next visit to Madrid.

Lovely apartment in charming neighborhood

The apartment is in Salamanca, the nicest neighborhood in Madrid, and is convenient to all of the major tourist attractions. There is a Carrefour Express grocery right next door. The apartment is well laid-out, with both bedrooms having an en-suite bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and cooking utensils. The furniture and decorating are a couple of levels above what is normally found in vacation apartment rentals.

My wife and I (and another couple) much enjoyed a 5 day stay in this wonderfully appointed and extremely well located apartment during a 5 day visit to Madrid in late September. It is situated in an up-scale neighbourhood near to fine shops, great restaurants, bars, and transportation (the Metro). Grocery shopping is literally next door. Extremely clean with the owner or her representative quick to reply to any questions made my telephone or email. The front bedroom (the larger of the two bedrooms) suffers from noise created on the street during the middle of the night from garbage collection trucks. A minor annoyance solved by tightly closing the shutters and for a light sleeper-using ear plugs. If we were to make a return visit to Madrid we would wish to stay here again and will strongly recommend it to friends who enjoy this type of accommodation (as opposed to a hotel)! Everything about this place was terrific. It's a great location close to bus and metro lines as well as being in a safe and very walkable neighborhood. The apartment itself was perfect for our needs and especially loved the blackout shades that hastened recovery from jet lag. The apartment is nicely decorated and very comfortable. What a wonderful apartment! My friend and I stayed for a week and loved it. It’s quite spacious and beautifully appointed. The location is close to most everything but far enough to feel extremely safe. Great restaurants and shopping on the same block. I’d definitely stay there again. The owners were very responsive answering all questions very quickly. They even helped to arrange transportation to and from the apartment.

Terrific Apartment in the Best Location!

I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this lovely apartment! It is located in one of the finest neighborhoods in all of Madrid. Beautiful decor, roomy and clean. We had assistance from the owner with airport transfers, someone to meet us and show us around the apartment, a kitchen that had the staples that you would need to start your vacation, fruit, bread, juice, milk, butter, coffee, etc. Very impressive for a rental. When we started exploring the neighborhood, we realized that we had chosen the right rental. Markets, restaurants and shops all just steps away from the front door. Some of the best restaurants are right on calle Hermosilla or only a few blocks away. It's also in walking distance to the old city for you to see all of the beautiful touristy sights this city has to offer. There were 3 of us that stayed here and there was plenty of space for all. Bathrooms are nice and loads of closet space! I would definitely recommend this apartment! Can't wait to return!

A beautiful apartment in the nicest neighborhood in Madrid

You should not hesitate to rent this apartment if you are going to Madrid. I am extremely picky about where I stay and this apartment exceeded my expectations. The neighborhood is very elegant and quiet. The best stores, restaurants and everything in walking distance. The building has a door man which is nice for extra security. The apartment is beautifully decorated which is very rare with apartment rentals I have found. The kitchen was loaded with everything we could have needed i.e. coffee, milk, sugar, bread, fresh fruit, bottled water, snacks, condiments, spices, etc. That type of hospitality is not common with rentals. The living room area was decorated very nicely and made for a very pleasant area for my family (4 of us). She has hung artwork, bookshelves are stacked with hundreds of books, and oriental carpeting throughout.. 2 very nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Tons of closet space with actually more hangers than we could use. I can't say enough good things about this apartment. Please take my word and book this place if you are going to be in Madrid. Although it's not in the center of town, you can walk there easily (about 20 minutes to Prado/Sol etc), and you can find a nice oasis from the hustle and bustle of Madrid.
