Excellent location right on the river. We enjoyed the short commute to area attractions and sitting on the deck watching the water traffic. Train traffic was not a barrier at all and our entire stay was peaceful and relaxing!

Great views! Yes, the train tracks are close. It wasn’t a problem for us. The host does, very thoughtfully, supply ear plugs but we never needed them. The hot tub was a great feature overlooking the river.

Wonderful Stay

Water Street Cabin had everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable, cook our meals, and relax. We stayed with our 3 adult children and had plenty of space. We enjoyed the location, and getting to hot tub was a true bonus.

The location was perfect! It felt like we were floating on the river. It was wonderful to watch the barges go by so close. There are trains that go by too but we loved it. I loved getting pictures of everything. The cabin was within walking distance of the Marquette waterfront and Eagle’s Landing Winery. The location also made venturing up to Effigy Mounds National Monument, Pikes Peak State Park, and over to Prairie du Chien so easy. And, my husband was catching smallmouth bass from the river right there! We loved it so much and want to go back.

Great location if you’re up for being at the transportation crossroads. Walking distance to boat rental, casino, winery, EV charger and Casey’s. Right on the water. Rustic cabin feel. Games supplied and a little playroom. The two bedrooms share the “full” bathroom upstairs. It’s cozy.Read other reviews re: the train, cuz it definitely impacts your stay. It’s spitting distance from the house, it’s loud, and it will wake you up. We could handle the noise, cuz we were prepared for it. What we didn’t know was that the train stops on the tracks frequently, which blocks you in. We experienced 20 minute waits while it stopped, then moved back and forth several times before it finally left the driveway clear to enter/exit.Laura was a good host and prompt with replies.

Amazing place, amazing location

We arrived to a clean and tidy house right on the river! The views are amazing. The location is in walking distance to some fun places as well as outdoor activities. A two minute drive will bring you to McGregor, a town with charming shops and dining options. Cross the bridge over to PDC for even more dining and shopping options. A five minute drive in any direction will bring you to excellent hiking and overlook areas!

Laura was easy to work with and responded quickly. I hate to comment about how loud the train is (because it's out of Laura's control) but even sound sleepers may have trouble sleeping. Location was great to be able to experience all that McGregor, IA and Praire du Chein, WI have to offer.

Loved the vibe and view

The property was such a nice space. Quaint, clean, cozy. Great for conversations, cooking meals (well equipped), enjoying the scenery and convenience to places we explored. Loved it. Our only negative had to do with the very loud trains at night starting at about 10:00 and continuing every hour until about 4:00. It definitely disrupted sleep on night one. I actually slept through some of it on night two.

Riverfront views but very loud

The property is a nice little setup, clean, and well stocked. We however were very disappointed and were not able to sleep at night due to trains going past every hour all night long. And I mean all night. We only stayed for one night of our two-night visit. We emailed the host to say we were leaving and basically got a short "safe travels" reply. Lesson learned here I guess.

Good place overall

The cabin was super pretty, great decor, very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were slightly awkward set up, especially for taller adults, and there were no basic toiletries offered like bath soap, shampoo or conditioner. For anyone who might be concerned with the train, I'll say it does run often all day and night long. It also stops often right in front of the house, which means you hear it come, and then go about 5 minutes later. This was no problem for us except at night. Anyone sleeping in the bedroom at the front of the house should be aware the noise is very loud. The people in the back bedroom were fine tho. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view, hot tub was great, location was perfect. Thank you Laura!

Very disappointing!

The location of the rental property was very appealing to us, along the Mississippi, close to downtown, it was what we were looking for. What we were not looking for were trains that would run almost on the hour all through the night, both nights that we were there. We should have known when we walked into the cabin and saw the large jars of earplugs. It was a miserable experience, it felt like the train was running through the cabin as the cabin literally shook with each passing train. There were also issues with the hot tub and other amenities within the cabin. I gave the owner the benefit of the doubt, and I contacted them prior to writing this review, their response was very disappointing. There are many other beautiful places to rent in that area, find one other than this one.

All good. Bedrooms upstairs so any physical issues might be a concern. Some may not like the railroad tracks and trains. Did not bother me any. Liked to watch the barges on the river. The boat captain was very friendly and helped with fishing tips. Nice little town.
