Breakfast: asked for a decaf coffee, was only offered Nescafe instant sachets. You don't pay £18 or whatever for a hotel breakfast to get instant coffee just because you ask for decaf, and this has never happened at any other hotel or b&b I've ever been to. If someone asks for a decaf, you go and make them a proper one from a coffee machine or bring them a cafetiere of it to the table!

I enjoyed the stay but there was a few things that were a concern. The backdoors that lead to the outside back car park were not locked at all and doors seems unstable. The rooms were very cosy and tidy but a few things could of been a bit cleaner. And there wasnt much staff around in terms of service. A part from that i enjoyed the stay.

It was a good experience though it wasbjust for a night. Walking distance to heights if Abraham and town centre. Staff are so friendly and respectful. Even met someone from our hometown which was a bonus.

Return Visit

As usual a fantastic welcome when i got to the New Bath. I had one of the Balcony Rooms facing the pool, they have been redecorated to a high standard with an amazing shower. The bar is now open to quite late which helps when you have been out late and fancy a night cap. The food is lovely and nothing is too much for all the staff.

Amazing place to stay. Lido was the reason that we came and were not disappointed. Donna in the Soa was great and very friendly. Only issue was the Spa condition. Sauna is falling apart. Broken wood and exposed nails. Needs a complete renovation as does the steam room which is also old and requires money spent to bring it up to standard

Absolutely lovely stay at New Bath Hotel. The staff were lovely very helpful. A bonus is the use of the lido. Very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay again.

Bar service very good. Had what i wanted in stock. The room i had was newly decorated to a very high standard so much so i will be requesting that one again. The morning staff as friendly as the evening staff which makes a real difference as i was treated like a person and not a number.

Single stay.

Starting here on my own as a single woman I felt safe. My room, bathroom and the communal facilities were really clean, although there were signs of wear in a couple of places, for example the bed base. I was in the original hotel, where the building itself could do with some attention in places (window ledges, etc) which I hope they attend to because it's a beautiful building in a wonderful location. It's easy to get to on the edge of Matlock Bath and has plenty of parking. The pool is *amazing*, and I would definitely go back just to use that again.

Area and main hotel it’s self was beautiful but when got there we didn’t actually get a room in the hotel, we was in a building round the back which was definitely not at nice and very run down, had a completely ripped duvet with a cover that didn’t fit and very hard pillows!! they were in the middle of doing it al up so maybe in time will hopefully be just at nice, overall staff and food was nice and great to be close to all the local attractions
