A Grand old hotel

We chose this hotel for our 2 night stay, as it was close to the train station, as we use the V/line country service. It was also accessible to public transport, which we used to get to our 2 shows. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy. And our room was very spacious with all the kitchen equipment we needed. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Stayed for one night over the weekend. Staff were very professional and helpful. Parking was easy. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. While the hotel is next to Southern Cross train station and the metro train line, the room was quieter than anticipated. I would stay here again.

Wonderful old hotel that have a lot of long term tenants leaving the hotel rooms at the back of the hotel, at the back of the building where the trains are active all night long. The room itself is lovely with a very small bathroom. Maid service only on certain days. Again a very long walk to your room, meaning a full city block then you turn the corner and walk further.

Great one night stay before fly off. Had a great view from the balcony on 6th floor. Loved the pool and spa. It is noisy as near trains and bed is little old and hard. Otherwise loved the stay.

I love staying at the Grand Hotel. Denis is very friendly and professional. The rooms are huge. It's super convenient to the Exhibition centre for conferences, but also easy access to the city.

This was a beautiful late 1800s building, with perfect modern updates. I would stay in yhis place over and over again. The indoor pool and hottub was clean and big enough for laps. Theres also a sauna. Irs walking distance from anywhere you need to go and 1 block to the city free tram. We wheeled our luggage from bus stop to the hotel, then the next day, we wheeled them the block to the tram and rode it to the cruise ship. The staff was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and very welcoming.

This is an amazing old building with huge high grand ceilings and enormous hallways. Very impressive and historical architecture. Fabulous location. Not suitable for people who cannot walk far or do stairs well - otherwise a great choice for Melbourne!

Spacious room and great location

Great location, 5 mins walk from Southern Cross station. Spacious room in historical building with kitchen and sitting area. With easy access to trams, can reach shops and restaurants under 15 mins or by walk 20 to 30 mins to town hall. We will book again for future Melbourne trip.

Great room, great location, and friendly staff

The suite was very nice with a balcony overlooking Spencer Street. Very convenient location, just a short walk to train station, Exhibition Center, many restaurants, etc. It's an older building so it's a bit quirky, but we'd definitely stay there again. Very satisfied customers!
