The best location, walkable distance to everything you’d want, and in a very cool neighborhood. The pool is nice, everything is very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. 100-% recommend Hotel Luz! Mérida is such a beautiful town and the people are amazing. I traveled alone as a woman with my two kids and felt very safe.

This is a wonderful little hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff as well as clean, comfortable accommodations. The owner/operator family clearly takes pride in the business as noted by the many little details. The hotel is very convenient to the old town square where many museums and cultural activities occur, but if you rent a car, they also have an arrangement with a manned parking area. The complimentary breakfast is also of exceptional quality with some of the best coffee we've had. If we return to Merida, we will definitely stay at the Luz en Yucatan again!

Luz is a great place to stay. We returned after 10 years and what a great surprise to see some familiar faces and some great new ones as well. Many changes since our last stay and all beautiful and for the good. We had the complimentary breakfast and it was delicious. Would highly recommend staying at Luz. Great accommodations, owners, and staff provide fantastic value for the money.

First time in Merida

Went to Merida for the first time and it was magical. The city itself has a lot to offer but honestly our stay at the hotel really made it for us. The entire staff including the owner made our stay so comfortable and fun. We stayed in the Tortuga room and it was super clean and comfortable. Had our own patio and hammock. The pool was a great place to hang and relax as well. If you need help with activities the staff wil help and their recommendations are good and fairly priced. The breakfast and coffee is also tasty. We’ll be back. Hasta Lu!

Great Service

It was nice. Great location-very close to the main plaza. We got the room that had three beds and a full kitchenette. It was called La Perla. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool is nice and the facilities are great. The included breakfast was exceptional, but it did take a long time. There was also secure parking, which was nice.

Luz en Yucatan, was a great central location in Merida. We were able to walk around to dining areas and the park. Enjoyed a full breakfast every morning. The staff were so warm and welcoming, so helpful.

I stayed in the Tulipán (tulip) room for 4 nights, and had such a restful stay. The included breakfasts were so good, and plentiful! Really set me up for the day every day. The reception staff were beyond helpful, and helped book a tour to Uxmal which picked me up from the hotel - I was telling others on my tour how great my hotel was haha! The room came with an indoor hammock as well as an outdoor patio space. It is walking distance to so many good restaurants, and things to see. I'm going to be recommending La Luz to all of my friends and family!

Loved our stay here. Easily the best place in our month-long trip in Mexico! We turned up having had all our cash/cards stolen on a long bus trip. Donard and staff were totally understanding, amazing hosts and lent us some cash whilst we got ourselves sorted. The hotel was gorgeous, stunning decor and artworks/textiles. Beautiful and comfortable bedroom two hammocks indoor and on the balcony. A fridge, air con AND drinking water! Delicious breakfast included, plentiful and lots of choice. Julisa, Eva and team are amazing - we particularly liked the homemade muffins, lovely touch! For the price point, you cannot beat Luz en Yucatan. Everything exceeded our expectations! Still dreaming of relaxing by the pool with a cracking Mezcalita! Will be the first stop on our next trip!
