Parking fees were ridiculous $50 a day to self park one car as well as resort fees I didn’t expect to pay separately after paying so much for the room. There was only 1 pool Open the hot tub was closed and the sky bridge to get from the parking lot to the hotel was closed making it very inconvenient to get in and out had to cross the busy street. I understand that places have to do upgrades and repairs but this should be disclosed at the time of reservations instead of charging a fortune and being so disappointed. The room and hotel was very clean. A lot of the staff couldn’t understand what we said. Just a very aggravating trip. I will never stay there again and would never recommend to a friend.

The stay was very nice, but it was our honeymoon getaway. I feel like we should have had a little bit of special treatment since we decided to book with this resort, following our wedding. A simple bottle of wine, or our room towels in a cute arrangement, or rose petals would have sufficed. When I inquired about any of this, it all came with an additional price sadly. I know of other places that have complementary things for Newlyweds, as they should.

Someone came in my room and stole my cheesecakes out of the fridge and when i called about it, they brung them back. The hotel is extremely dirty. The couch, pillows on the couch, windows, the balcony, the linen on the windows. This hotel by far isn’t a reflection of its name. The tub has hair in it. Highly do not recommend, and i reserved 2 rooms.

Disappointing Stay at The Diplomat - Would Not Recommend I recently stayed at The Diplomat in Hollywood, Florida, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was unacceptable. The lobby bathrooms were filthy, and at one point, there was actual feces in the lobby area, which was both shocking and disgusting. One of the main pools was closed due to construction, and the other was actively being worked on, filling the area with dust and noise from power tools cutting pavers — not the relaxing atmosphere you’d expect from a resort. Our room was not clean upon check-in: there was mold in the bathroom, and food remnants on the carpet. To make things worse, the air conditioning didn’t work properly, making the room uncomfortable in the Florida heat. Overall, the property felt neglected and poorly managed. For the price and reputation, I expected much better. I would strongly suggest considering other options in the area if you’re looking for a comfortable, clean, and enjoyable stay.

Pool, hot tub, and restaurant next to the water was closed on day 2 of our stay. Pool that was open was very busy with not enough seating at all. Day 4 they started construction on the only pool open and took more seating away. This was supposed to be a relaxing honeymoon but instead it was filled with lots of construction noise. Bridge from parking garage was also closed. No microwave in our room. The mini fridge wasn’t cold so ruined the food we had. Had to walk a long way to get to the beach. If we knew any of this construction was going on we would not have stayed here.

I’m sure the hotel will eventually be rather nice, but it was under HEAVY construction. The main pool is completely closed, and the sound of a jackhammer it’s exactly the most relaxing thing to hear first thing in the morning. I understand the need to renovate the hotel, but during off season would be preferred. Also the main steakhouse restaurant advertised, was also closed our entire stay. Nearly all icemakers were inoperable (finally found one on the 30th floor) We paid extra for the ocean front balcony and the balcony was completely outdated for the price. There were no wash clothes in our room, and the room wasn’t the cleanest. We found several fake eyelashes in our sheets, and we do not wear glue in lashes. We did utilize the beach, and the towel service was nice. Would also like to note anyone coming here soon, the beach is FILLED with seaweed.

The lobby area, bars, and restaurants are beautiful. The rooms are ok, but not amazing. The bathroom had a very strange layout with very heavy glass doors to the small shower stall and another heavy glass door to the toilet room... which made getting in and out of the bathroom and using the bathroom quite an annoyance. The front area of the hotel had some serious construction happening, which blocked the use of all the sidewalks, so the walkability was not as safe as I would have expected in such a high-traffic area.
