I recently stayed at the Exmoor White Horse Inn for two nights, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The accommodation was comfortable, welcoming, and full of character, providing the perfect place to relax after long days outdoors. Its location couldnât be betterâright in the heart of Exmoor, with beautiful hiking trails practically on the doorstep. The staff were warm and helpful, and the overall atmosphere made the stay feel truly special. Honestly, I canât fault it, and Iâd happily return for another visit.
We have stayed before as it's a great Exmoor location and very convenient, staff are great and the bar and restaurant serve good food and drinks. Tech could use maintenance/upgrades: both Tesla EV chargers didn't work and constant Wifi connection errors in our room and around the property.
Extra friendly staff with a very efficient check in. After a recent trip to Scotland this hotel was by far a winner in both the price stakes and quality.
An old coaching inn nestling in the Exe valley with lots of atmosphere. Great restaurant with excellent and personal service. Climb out of the valley onto Exmoor and explore moor and coast at the same time.
Great location for hiking the area. Friendly, helpful staff. Booked a âluxuryâ room which was a decent size but not sure that it could be described as luxury! Perfectly fine otherwise. Decent choice of food and drink. Outside seating (beer garden) beside the river.
Staff were excellent. Friendly, accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere. Good food with two different menus in the evening.
Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Would not hesitate to recommend to friends or family and would definitely go back.
I requested a ground or first floor room as I have mobility problems. They emailed me and said they had a ground floor room, but it was an upgrade from what I had booked, therefore I needed to pay another ÂŁ20.00 per night. I think this was absorbitant, as it didnât look like the hotel was fully booked. Surely they accommodate disabled people all the time, or is it just a way of getting extra money. The site I booked through didnât give me the option to say I was disabled, so I think these booking sites need to have a look at that part of the booking process.
The perfect bolthole
I wanted to a few days away before Christmas. Somewhere wild and windy. Exmoor delivers in bucket loads.
And I wanted somewhere cosy and comfortable to stay, which did good food.
The Exmoor White Horse Inn was the perfect place.
Attractively situated beside the pretty River Exe, my walks could start from the front door.
A cosy, comfortable room. Great food. And the warmest of welcomes - each time I returned from another windblown walk.
The perfect weekend bolthole.
Will definitely be back.
