Very Basic

Very basic and not that comfortable. The bed was hard, the floor was dirty, the bed was not very warm. Parking is very limited as well. Cannot recommend.

This place is on the edge of most businesses but everything is walkable and right around the corner brophys tavern is a great late night drink spot

Worse hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I chose this hotel for my birthday and it ruined my special day. I arrived at 8pm and front desk was closed. Our key was taped to the door with a map and note saying to call only for emergency. First thing I noticed when walking in room was the strong smell of toilet. The room smelled like toilet and must the entire time. We found hair on the pillows. We didn’t bother calling the number to complain because we had our 5 month old and we had already carried up his stroller along with 3 luggage’s and his necessities that required climbing the stairs 4 times. My husband was having an asthma attack so I didn’t want to put more on him to have to carry everything back to the car when he was having a hard time already. We had a horrible night due to the smell, hard dirty bed that had me and the baby scratching ourselves all night. The floor was dirty and sticky and the few times I had to walk barefoot made my feet black. You can hear everything next door and outside. I chose that place because it said fireplace and ocean view. Well you can’t see the ocean from the room as it was advertised and the fireplace was a heater that looked nothing like a fireplace. The inn has limited parking so we had to park down the street and carry our baby along with all his and our stuff. Never imagined starting in Carmel would be such a Nightmare!

The grounds at the Carmel Wayfarer Inn were lovely, with a nice patio available with plenty of seating for guests. The location was excellent and walkable to shops and restaurants. The only downside was the room itself, which had an odd smell (this property is pet-friendly, which may explain this) and moreso repainted than remodeled.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. It’s a simple hotel and reasonably price. Location is very convenient, walking distance to shopping and dining. They had coffee and donuts in the morning. Not a lot of parking space, but there are street parking. I would stay here again

This is a lovely property, conveniently located just at the edge of the shopping and dining area, so it's quiet without all of the foot traffic from the busier streets. They offer a parking lot with several spaces, so we didn't find it difficult to park on a busy weekend. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the property is well maintained. We didn't find the many steps onerous, but if you are older you might want to consider the fact that you must walk up many stairs, even if you are staying on the first floor, as the property is elevated from 5th, but can be accessed without too many stairs through the parking lot from Mission. I have stayed at this property several times, twice on the second floor (lots of steps!), and once from the first floor as I was traveling with a 90-year-old who was able to get around ok with assistance. Check in begins at 3 pm, so don't go early expecting to check in before that time - just walk around town for awhile and grab a bite to eat or enjoy the sights!
