Quiet wooded Guest Cottage

Behind a charming garden gate, through your own private entrance is a cozy retreat conveniently located just 1 mile from the village of Carmel-By-The-Sea. Our very spacious studio is a pleasant walk or quick drive to exceptional restaurants, shops & galleries and beautiful beaches and all that Carmel and that the Monterey Peninsula has to offer.

Our studio is tastefully done with warm Provencal colors. The king size bed is so cozy with alpaca pillow top and down comforter. You'll enjoy a quiet & peaceful night's sleep and wake up rested for a great day's adventure.

Enjoy having your own favorite coffee or tea on the patio bistro table with some great pastries from the popular local bakeries.. In the late afternoon a glass of wine from from the own local award winning wineries along with some cheeses.

Enjoy a perfect get-away for a birthday, anniversary or special week-end or week.

The property was beautiful with all kinds of flowers & a nice patio. It was very clean, the bed was a king & comfortable. The skylight windows allowed lots of light, the host was easy to contact & very personable. The location was great! The only drawback was that there were so many knick knacks, etc, that it made the place feel crowded, eg, limited counter space in bathroom & kitchen.

We LOVE Barb's Cozy Cottage!

Carmel is one of our favorite places on the planet, and Barb's backyard cottage is the perfect place to come home to after a day of exploring. Amazing snacks, the coziest bed ever, a cute little blue couch for relaxing, a great shower, and more! I am scent sensitive (due to migraines), and we made a personal request in advance this time about fabric softener, which Barb graciously handled without question. Excellent communication, a gorgeous location, and a memorable vacation. What more can you ask for?

Cozy and comfortable and charming

The "Quiet Cottage in the Woods" is perfect for couples who want to stay a few minutes from Carmel's center and enjoy stillness within a local neigborhood. Our host has thought of every comfort to ensure her guests have the best experience possible - fluffy towels, the softest sheets, 3 kinds of coffee makers, decent toilet paper and some treats to welcome us. The patio is lush with well maintained trees, plants and even orchids. Barb is warm, caring and responsive. The cottage has been furnished in a non stuffy French Country style and books on the area are provided for guest use, The only issue we had was with our internet service. TMobile didnt cooperate with us in the cottage or even on the hill.Overall we would enthusiastically recommend this place to stay and Carmel in general!

Carmel Cottage

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at this quiet Carmel cottage. All the amenities of home were included-- a comfortable bed, fully-stocked kitchen and beautiful shady patio with a garden. Our hostess Barb was kind, and answered our questions promptly. We were in the area to enjoy the Monterey and Carmel beaches, and Laguna Seca.

Cute and quaint

We loved Barb’s place so much. Very clean and cozy. Perfect for my husband and I to visit Carmel and surrounding areas. Comfy bed and nice amenities. All of Barb’s restaurant recommendations were spot on. Favorite being Dametra Cafe and least being Misson Ranch. Cooler weather than I expected in June, and always windy so needed jackets daily. Fog doesn’t burn off till noon sometimes so plan sight seeing accordingly. Gorgeous sunsets from beach. Love the charm and lovely feeling you get from Carmel and Barb’s place!

Great host!

Enjoyed staying at the cottage. The amenities that Barb provides her guests are exceptional. And she is equally as lovely. Great location close to everything. Got to hike Point Lobos, go to the aquarium, take some beautiful beach walks, antiquing, and do a e-bike tour of the 17 mile drive. One issue for me was that the internet is a bit sketchy in the cottage. I had a few things I needed to do for work and had to move around and sometimes go outside to get connected. But not a huge issue. Just be aware if it is important to you. Overall, great experience.

Nice Wonderful cottage!

The cottage is large with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom, functional kitchen, sitting couch for tv plus an outside beautiful table next to a garden, very peaceful. Wonderful & nice owners who are very quick to help & friendly, but leave you alone unless needed for something. It is a very nice place to stay in Carmel by the Sea.

So very comfortable to have the Cottage each day as we traveled around the peninsula hiking around. Everything we needed was there for personal care and cooking. Quiet and secluded. A great place.
