This was by far our favourite rental of all time. It's an entire house on a farm with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and of Motueka valley. The house was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners, Sue and Dion, are the kindest people you'll ever meet. They live across the paddock and were there for everything we needed. Sue helped us with ideas of how to spend our 3 full days in the area. They told us where we could hike on their property so we got some cardio in by going up the mountain. Brian was also invited to help muster the lambs along with Dion and the 2 dogs. A memory he will cherish forever. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to be back some day. Highly recommend to everyone. It would be a great place for kids too.

Spotlessly clean and tidy!

Sadly, I missed the work trip due to illness, but reports from my co-workers were that the place was top notch, clean and spotlessly tidy with everything they could want for a brief stay. Thanks very much!

Unwind in charming country home

We had a perfect stay. Everything we needed and the home was super clean. Our host Sue provided information where to stop for lunch and how to check in, and was welcoming and friendly. The garden area is pretty with many flowers in bloom, and was a peaceful place to relax after a hot day on our cycles. Our stay added to our overall enjoyment of the cycle trail without a doubt, and would love to return on our next trail adventure in Motueka.

Fantastic stay

This was great. The house was spotless and perfect for our family with 3 kids. Very tranquil spot, quiet, beautiful gardens and close to the river and away from the road. We were able to use vegetables from the garden for dinner. Dion and Sue were great hosts, Dion took the kids out onto the farm to bottle feed the lambs, feed the chickens and offered to show them the sheep being shorn albeit we weren't able to make this. 30 minutes or so into Motueka, the drive on the other side of the river is great and you can take the back road through to Kaiteriteri and it is only about 45 minutes away. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and the kids loved it. Thanks, Geoff

Baton valley farm stay

Dion and Sue are great hosts, the property was wonderful and had everything you need. Dion came to get the kids to help on the farm several times, which they enjoyed so much! I highly recommend this accomodation, out of hustle and bustle of Nelson and motueka but close enough to visit these places.

Perfect rural retreat!

This is the perfect, peaceful spot for a getaway! We wanted a relaxed trip, and this place more than delivered. Sue was a fantastic host with wonderful, friendly, accomodating communication. The fire was lit and the house warm and welcoming when we arrive. The house had everything and more that we could need! It has been styled beautifully. Highly recommend if you'd like a quiet getaway, with birdsong in the morning, a river right on your doorstep, walking tracks around the farm (and a great hill for cardio right on the doorstep, if you so desire!) and a bath to finish off the day! Upper Moutere village is close if you're wanting a wee look around some local artisan shops, also.
