The beds were stained and filthy in both rooms assigned. The rooms had an odor and the main areas of the hotel were in need of housekeeping attention. Ended up leaving and going to a different hotel.

It's a good hotel for its price range; they might want to consider providing coffeemakers in the rooms, as most hotels these days seem to.

Overall it was clean and comfortable comparing the price of the hotel. Recommended. The management is recommended to add some no meat options like eggs etc in the breakfast menu.

Econo Lodge Beckley area

The people working at the hotel were eonderful, but that did not hide the obvious faults of this hotel. First, the good: When I checked in, the young lady at the desk noticed I was using a cane be ause of having back surgery 5 weeks ago, and she proceeded to change our room to one with a walk-in shower. Such kindness! Also, the breakfast was good, with a wide variety of food and drinks. Now, the bad: It was impossible for me to get comfortable in the bed. The mattress was hard and lumpy not only for me, but for my wife and daughter. Also, there was a very putrid smell on our hallway for the entire night. Finally, the shower was cold and there was very little water pressure. Overall, it was meh. I am unlikely to stay there again.

They need to fix many parts of the hotel, it has a lot of damage including the bathrooms that did not have what was necessary and they need to improve a lot with the breakfast and many More. We stayed 4 days but they never changed the sheets or we had to ask them to do it.

The staff were friendly and polite and the room was clean but had this odd and off-putting smell that made it hard to tolerate the room for long periods of time. Once again the room was clean and well maintained. I just had a tough time getting past the smell. I even bought air freshener and sprayed liberally but it was minimally effective. For the price it met my expectations except for that smell. Two days later and I can still smell it.

This appears to be a family run hotel. The folks at the front desk as well as all other non-family employees are way above average nice and friendly. The breakfast was GREAT best biscuits and gravy I have ever had at a hotel and the good make your own waffles 😊. For a lower cost hotel it was clean and neat. We would recommend this to all but our snobbiest friends as a good place to stay if you are coming to the New River Gorge, very centrally located for all the main US Park visitor centers. Travel Tip - Do not miss the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine !!
