I had a great time at Virunga Homestay, I initially only booked for a few nights but then stayed over a week. Francis is a very considerate, helpful, and accommodating host. The place is very clean, spacious and quiet. The homestay has good wifi and warm showers and the breakfast was wonderful, I highly recommend it. I will definitely come back.
it is a good stop over to volcano national park. about 20 mins drive.
the property is okay. it was well kept. the room was gorgeous but the mattress was terrible. it is hard and gave me backache.
the breakfast can be made better.
the staff is nice.
We were only here for one night, but Frances was a great host. The room as clean and comfortable, and he provided a good breakfast. We opted not to go to Volcanoes National Park, but Frances provided us with a great guide, who took us to Twin Lakes. On that trip we met MANY wonderful Rwandans out in the countryside, and saw beautiful scenery. The next morning our guide, Janvier, took us to the park where the baby gorilla naming ceremony is held, then out into the countryside again. FANTASTIC!
VIRUNGA HOMESTAY & CAMPSITES met me well, arranged in a large room, prepared a delicious and plentiful breakfast. Thanks!
But a terribly weak wi-fi that works very poorly.
He asked to organize a sightseeing tour of the Volcanoes National Park on a motobike, they said that it costs 5 thousand Rwandan francs. I agreed. A motorbiker arrived and took me and when they left the city he took 5 thousand francs from me and began to extort another 5 thousand francs. I refused to give an additional 5 thousand francs and the motorbiker without completing the tour returned to the city.
