Quiet 2 bedroom air-conditioned villa with private pool, patio and roof terrace

Beautiful, Cretan-style villa set in the charming village of Roumeli. The villa sleeps 4 people (5 with sofa bed), is completely private, and has fantastic sea and mountain views.

The villa has one double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, one twin room (which can be turned into a double), and one additional bathroom. The main living area and kitchen are open-plan with high ceilings, giving the villa an airy, spacious feel. You'll have access to wifi and a digital TV with sports channels.

The bedrooms and open-plan living area all have individual air-conditioning units.

The villa has a covered patio with a large table perfect for dining al fresco, a garden area, and a built-in brick BBQ. There is also a roof terrace perfect for watching the Cretan sunsets with an evening drink.

There is a large private swimming pool with loungers for sun bathing. Overlooking the pool is a mural inspired by the famous labyrinth where Theseus encountered the Minotaur, painted in classic colours. You can visit the original site in historical Knossos, not far from Heraklion.

There is a well-stocked supermarket in the village and two cafes, all within walking distance. The nearest beach is 1.8km away in the seaside village of Panormo, which also has lots of tavernas, shops, spas and small bars. There is a lovely authentic taverna (Taverna Roumeli) less than a 10-minutes walk away from the villa, which has panoramic views of the countryside, and delicious (very affordable!) food.

We recommend renting a car whilst you stay at Villa Ionides, but can also recommend a reliable local taxi number for trips where you don't wish to drive.

All bookings are exclusive.

Please note that when booking, the additional 'Property fee' includes a fee of 15euros per night obligatory Greek 'Climate Crisis Resilience Tax' and a cleaning fee.

Au calme

Superbe petite villa dans un petit village. La route nationale est vite rattrapĂ©e pour visiter tous les coins de la crĂȘte. Edward est un hĂŽte aux petits soins et facile Ă  contacter (il rĂ©pond trĂšs vite). La piscine est nettoyĂ©e rĂ©guliĂšrement. Nous avons vraiment profitĂ© du calme et de la vue. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut dans la maison. TOP !!!

Mooi huis met een fijn zwembad en leuke omgeving. De ligging is perfect voor uitstapjes naar o.a. Rethymnon. Het huis is schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Prima bedden en badkamers.Het contact met eigenaar Edward was top. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Geweldig huisje

Wij zijn net terug na een verblijf van 10 dagen en we kunnen alleen maar positief zijn over dit vakantiehuis. Alles wat je maar kan wensen was aanwezig. De bedden waren zeer comfortabel wat ook in vele huisjes niet zo is. Het zwembad,de ligging,de bbq,de airco echt alles was perfect in orde. Alsook een zeer vriendelijke eigenaar. We hadden nog wat langer kunnen blijven 😊

Once again we had a lovely holiday in Crete, returning to Roumeli. A great base to explore from. As last year the accommodation and facilities were spot on. Edward is always quick to respond if you have any questions but there were no issues for us. Just as good as the first time.

Family vacation

The house was as described, the area was convenient to a lot of nice restaurants down by the beach. We loved the covered porch, shutters on the doors and windows, and how close the pool was to the house. We met several nice neighbors, and the owner/manager was great with communication and we will definitely return.

Perfect Honeymoon!

We had the most wonderful stay at this villa! We were here for 3 weeks for our honeymoon and could not have asked for a better place. We flew my parents out for a few days in between and they loved it just as much as we did. The villa is beautiful and the pool is amazing!! Edward was the most perfect host, always replied to me asap and helped with so much, we could not recommend this villa enough! He got us some food and drink stocked up as we arrived late, and he also got us some celebratory bubbles for our wedding, which was such a lovely thought. You do definitely need to rent a car when staying here but we did anyway so that was no issue for us. The neighbours were also very lovely and helpful if we needed anything! Just perfection, thank you to Edward for making it so special for us.

Perfect place

This property was even better than we'd hoped for! It was the perfect size for 4 ( and even better when it was just the 2 of us!) and so comfortable and well equipped. We were there for a month (from mid September) so were especially pleased that the double bed was so comfy! As for the outside space - well!! Not only was so it so beautiful and spacious, with amazing views, but there were lots of different areas so you could always get sun or shade somewhere. It was great having the rooftop terrace to sip something tasty while watching the sunset and admiring the views - the mountains, the sea and the sky. And the pool was perfect, somehow always remaining cool, and beautiful in the evening with the pool lights on. The location of the villa in a quiet village suited us perfectly. You can easily walk to a well stocked supermarket and the best ever local taverna. It's a 30 minute, fairly strenuous walk to the beach and lovely town of Panormos - we enjoyed it, but if it was too hot them it was an easy 5 minute drive away. The village is so well located on the island for sightseeing - we saw so much, and would recommend a car (but get a small one, as there are some very narrow roads!) Oh yes - there's also the most friendly little winery very nearby, which we'd definitely recommend. Ed, the owner, was a great host - communication with him was always excellent. His local recommendations (eg for Spilies beach) were spot on. Book this villa if you can!

Wonderful stay.

A lovely villa with great facilities with easy access for local towns and beaches. The pool is a definite asset anytime of the day, especially after the sun has set and the pool lights are switched on. As a host Ed is very helpful and replies swiftly should you have any queries. The town of Margaritas and Spillies beach were highlights for us as were the local tavernas. Quieter beaches on the south coast are only an hour away as well as a spectacular gorge! Occasional visits from the local chickens next door were a hoot but no means a pest. Opening the exterior doors onto the poolside gives the property a certain character, with plenty of seating for following the sun or keeping in the shade. The roof terrace gives a wonderful panoramic view. We'd definitely stay at the villa in the future.

Perfect find

Gem of a find for us. Had the perfect balance of quite location, but not to far from anything. Top points for us were the pool, just the right size and very clean and the double bed was super comfortable. Views were beautiful of both the sea and surrounding mountains. AC in the living area was very effective. Would be nice to have in the bedrooms, but the fans helped, and for most of the year are probably sufficient. Ed, the owner was very responsive and on hand throughout. Would highly recommend, had a fab holiday. Thankyou

Sehr erholsam und entspannt

Es war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis fĂŒr uns, das wir nie vergessen werden. Die Villa, die Insel, das Wetter, die Menschen...insbes.unsere Nachbarn waren einfach nur großartig...auch die Akzeptanz unseres kleinen Hundes in allen Situationen hat uns schwer begeistert. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war immer verbindlich und fast freundschaftlich. Seit langem ein wirklich rundum schöner Urlaub von dem wir noch lange zehren...Bis nĂ€chstes Jahr!!!

Wonderful stay

Just returned from a months stay at this fab villa. Everything is absolutely as described and more. We loved the location which was so peaceful without being remote. I was on a working break and the internet was faultless. The villa is very well equipped with everything you could ever possibly need and the host was always on hand via email and phone: not that we ever needed anything! The local town Panormo is very quaint we often walked down as it’s only about 15 minutes walk. We did have a car which I highly recommend. Pool was fab and clean as was the villa. Overall a brilliant stay thanks so much for everything can’t wait to return đŸ€©

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in der Villa verbracht. Ich habe die Unterkunft vorgefunden, die ich mir erhofft hatte. Wunderschöne, ruhige Lage, Fernblick auf das Meer, toller Pool, grandioser Sternenhimmel. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und Ed ist ein toller Gastgeber- jederzeit erreichbar, schnelle hilfreiche Antworten. Leider war die Woche viel zu kurz- jederzeit wieder.

Wunderschön

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Ed hat es uns an nichts fehlen lassen (bis auf eine Kaffeemaschine)! Die Abende auf der Terrasse und am Pool waren sehr schön. Etwas negatives habe ich aber noch: Die Nachricht das in den Schlafzimmern doch keine Klimaanlage ist ( wie auf den Bildern bzw. Beschreibung ) hat mich anfangs sehr sauer gemacht, aber letztlich war es mit der Klimaanlage in der WohnkĂŒche ok ! Vor allen Dingen weil diese Nachricht erst dann kam , wo es nicht mehr möglich war kostenfrei zu stornieren. Trotzdem war es ein perfekter Sommerurlaub, gerne wieder in der Villa Lonides!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in der Villa von Ed und können diese nur weiterempfehlen. Jegliche Kommunikation und RĂŒckfragen liefen einwandfrei und man hat innerhalb kĂŒrzester Zeit eine RĂŒckmeldung bekommen. Wir hĂ€tten uns keine bessere Unterkunft fĂŒr unseren Urlaub vorstellen können.

Viel zu kurz

Unser Gastgeber Ed war sehr freundlich und hilfsreich und hat von der Entfernung sehr an uns gekĂŒmmert, obwohl wir leider nur eine Nacht bei ihm gebucht haben. Das haben wir in dem Hauptsaison sehr geschĂ€tzt! Das Swimmingpool war genial, auch so die Dachterrasse und die Taverna Empfehlung (10 Minuten zu Fuß) war genau richtig. Wir haben unser Aufenthalt sehr genossen und werden diese Villa wĂ€rmst weiterempfehlen.

Cretan Village Villa

A delightful, intimate Cretan villa with pool , flowery garden,in village setting. Everything we needed for our holidays from ice in the freezer to swimming towels. Endless supply of hot water and everything worked from the pool shower to the bedroom fans. Excellent
