Beachfront OBX condo: family fun & ocean views
The Best Beach Days Lie Ahead in this Oceanfront Condo Any OBX repeat vacationer can tell you that Nags Head is one of the most up-and-coming and recently developed towns on our beautiful strip of barrier islands. There's no better way to see what all the hype is about than from 'Dunes Watch': an immensely beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront condo in the Dune Lanterns Condos in the heart of Nags Head! Spend your afternoons laying out on the sandy beach, that's basically your front yard, as the kids splash around in the waves. In the evenings, gather the family around the home's indoor fireplace, sharing laughs and making memories to carry everyone for years -- or at least until you come back next year!
Upon entering Dunes Watch, the first things you may notice are the living room's coastal decor and wall art, painted with refreshing pastel colors, instantly bringing the room to life with a bright, shoreline ambiance as a part of this gorgeous beachfront home! Various shades of sienna and beige on the front door, kitchen cabinets, floor, and marbled countertop complement the sandy view through the sliding glass doors -- beautifully contrasted by the aqua of the Atlantic. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee with a side of ocean breezes or bring in the evening with a cool drink as you watch the moon rise up over the water. The kitchen and dining room offer plenty of seating for everyone, between the 4 stools at the bar and the 4 chairs at the round table. Can't use any vacation days during your stay? Then work from home, when you need to, from the nook and office desk beside the fireplace! The covered deck overlooking the beach has plenty of seating for everyone in your group. There's even another table and 3 chairs, so you can enjoy breakfast and coffee while soaking in the morning sea breeze.
The master bedroom features a king bed, a TV, plenty of dresser space, and direct access to the covered deck! You'll surely love the spacious and beautiful marbled shower in the master bathroom. The second bedroom offers a bright and airy escape with a double and twin single bed and a TV. Great location and right on the beach. We also had easy access to exploring the area. Property management made sure to keep us updated throughout our stay. Our only negative was the linens. You only receive one towel for each guest. However, there is a washer/dryer combo so we could do laundry as needed. Overall it was a great week.
Overall it was a nice stay. I sent an email about having the bed in the master bedroom made up as my wife and I are in our 70âs. I was assured that they would make bed. I Evan offered to pay and was told it was not necessary and the cleaning service would be more than happy to do it. It was never done!Next: the screen on the balcony from the master bedroom. Did not work tracks are full of sand. With the storm we had Friday night it was blown out of its track. I did call Saturday night and reported the problems. The automated answer service is terrible. No one returned the call or email.Other than the two minor incidents it was a wonderful stay.
The location was great - right on the beach, easy access every day to set up. The property is definitely dated, but clean. If you're looking for a great view, this is not the place - you can peak at the beach. But you can hear the waves and let's face it - you can walk a few steps and be on the beach! I was disappointed that they said linens and towels included, but only left 1 towel person - we had 2 teenage girls and mom who needed extra towels but we were told we would have to pay for them. I thought that was cheap on the owner's part. The sink plug was missing in the main bathroom and I lost a cap down the sink so my husband had to take the trap off - lots of stuff has fallen down there - it's a cheap fix just replace the sink cover. Overall it was a good stay.
The property was very cleaned and well stocked. Comfortable couch and beds. Good water pressure and showers. Great location.
A little glimpse of the ocean since the sand is creating largers dunes.
Nice location with a view of ocean from family space and main bedroom. We could walk right onto the beach. Ample parking. We had late October early November sunny warm beach days mixed with cooler days excellent for shopping, hiking, fishing, and exploring the Banks. Great time!
My wife and I traveled to the Outer Banks for the first time. The condo was conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. Checking into the condo was extremely easy. The condo was the perfect size for us, with direct beach access. The rental management company had already put the linens in the condo upon our arrival. My one negative was in the master bedroom ceiling there was a small leak from the upstairs condo at one point and the ceiling had a little pealing from where the water came through. It didnât look like anyone attempted to repair it. But that was the only issue. The management company was easy to deal with and attentive. We would definitely stay in this condo again.
Perfect location, steps from the beach but had issues!
The property was nice and as advertised. It does need a few upgrades. Only issues were with rental agency. We have been doing this for over 20 years and the check in time was a little late 5:00 and no option to get in early if it was ready. Check out time was early 9:00 and had to pay extra for later. Also had an issue with sheets and called the night of check in and left message. Never received a call back. Did send an e-mail (only after replying to a survey) and got a response it would be resolved that day but it took an extra day to get resolved only after sending another e-mail. Finally the beds were not made (this is clearly stated in all communication) we have never had to do that in any other rental, in the over 20 year of renting in the Outer Banks.
