Charming Spacious Bahamian Home
TangleWood is a wonderful private home with all the modern amenities that would ensure you would not miss home. The master bedroom has a king size bed, modern bathroom with bidet, toilet, double vanity, jacuzzi tub and large walk in shower and walk in closet; the second, third and fourth bedrooms have queen size beds with private ensuite bathrooms. The home is decorated with art that is procured from charity auctions and events and is all available for sale. The art is replaced with different art as they are sold. The TangleWood Art Project is a revolving exhibit that we started to assist young artists and charities.
Great property. Hosts were very responsive/communicative. Highly recommend Aquashores half day swimming pigs, snorkeling and turtle viewing with lunch at Footprints
Overall, I was very satisfied with the property. The pictures of the property were accurate. The staff to help with any problems was located across the street at the Cottonwood Villas and they were very responsive any time we had a problem. The house was in good condition, clean and lovely. The pool was clean and the landscaping was beautiful. The kitchen was up to date and was easy to use. Everything worked except the ice maker in the fridge. The grill was acceptable, although the igniter did not work and the area around the grill flooded when we got rain which meant I grilled standing in an inch of water on 2 occasions. The pool is unheated so the water was cold but nice. The lounge chairs were comfortable around the pool, but 2 were in various stages of breaking down. The neighborhood was nice, but within half a mile of the property the neighborhood was not so nice. The gate to the driveway had a habit of reopening after we pressed the electronic closer which was a bit concerning, but we managed. The bedrooms were comfortable and ample. The shower in the 2nd bedroom didn't work very well, but all the other showers did. Closet space was satisfactory. Air conditioning worked well. We lost power on the evening of our last night in Nassau and were in complete dark for 30 minutes. I called the property manager who came over and started a generator for us and everything was good after that. I would recommend a rental vehicle if you want to go anywhere.
We were 3 couples along with our adult child and there was more than enough room. The outdoor kitchen area was perfect for cooking the fresh fish we purchased at Montague beach. Grocery store, pharmacy, liquor store all a 5 minute walk away. Any concerns or questions were answered promptly.
This was a beautiful home with great amenities. The house was very clean and spacious to meet all of our needs. When there was an issue it was handled right away. The extra amenities we had access to were very useful and easy to access. The outside was beautifully landscaped.
The property was very well situated for all member of my family. Those from 12 to 65 loved the area. It was well kept and all had a great time. Chef Sweeting was an unbelievable find, so much that I would recommend him to anyone who looks at the property.
We would have liked to stay longer but have all decided to come back in a few years.
Also, everything we needed was in a shopping center within one mile. Fishing was great. My wife caught a 60 lb Wahoo. Wahoo!
Our stay at Tanglewood was Amazing. We were traveling with 5 adults and 3 children and really wanted a place that we were going to be able to prepare meals for them. I know that eating out everyday was out of the question. The house was perfect because it accommodated everyone comfortably. The only thing that wasn't mentioned in the description of the house was that the fourth bedroom was not in the main house. It was the guest quarters on the other side of the kitchen. The kitchen was great for us, it had all of the cooking utensils that we needed. The pots and pans may need to be changed as they were scratched, dented, and some burnt. The main living room was huge and was rarely used. The family rooium next to the kitchen was our gathering spot as it was next to the kitchen. The kids loved the pool and was in it everyday. We went to the beach once. The beach was a short walk away. The house is a great location, because it is close to everything. We used a taxi service to get around. This house was like a second home. It has all of the amenities just like home. We were able to do laundry before we left, which was great. (the washer/dryer are not energy efficient so it took a long time to do laundry)But our stay was Just Amazing !
The property was obviously something really special when it was built. It has not been kept up well, however. The outside grill is not working and thewhole outdoor cooking island is largely unusable. The house is better, but could still use some upkeep.
This house is close to a street that is really not serviced by cabs or busses. We spent a lot of time trying to either hail a cab or bus and actually ended up walking quite a bit.
Staff was great, although we didnt get directions or contact numbers and instructions until the morning of our arrival, which is too late if you don't have phone/email service set up.
Overall, our experience on Nassau was great! This was our 4th time, and the third time in a VRBO. Next time we will probably choose a different place, however.
My traveling posse is the Well-Read Sistahs Book Club. From the time we set eyes on the property we were enthralled. We treated it like our own large Shangri-La paradise. I was traveling with the group who wanted to be in walking distance of the beach. Shirley Street traffic scared us at first, but we did make it to the mall and the Fresh Market. Everyone was content to stay on the property and enjoy the pool, the outdoor seating spaces and the Sonos sound system. The staff, Charmaine and Kent, were attentive and responsive to our needs, which were very few. I love to cook and the kitchen was to die for. I guess I am not as picky about the pots and pans. Unlike an earlier review, we did not find the furnishings to be shabby in the least. This property is perfect for families, couples, and all-girl get-aways like ours. The general consensus is that one day we will be back with a rental car. (That's what happens with seniors....). Make sure you get to the Montagu Gardens around the corner (they will send Oscar to pick you up). The food is excellent and cost-effective. The service is attentive and friendly. Frankly, I could have stayed for another week of paradise. And I would rent a Scott Godet property with no hesitation. Also, those banana pancakes are the bomb. Charmaine (the busiest housekeeper in Nassau), thank you for your warmth and kindness. We appreciated it.
We were a party of 10 and the house was perfect to accommodate us all. It is a spacious house. We had good service too with people coming every day to help us out.
The location is good. Close to downtown, to Montegu fish market and to Paradise Island.
Our only disappointment was with a few details in the house. It could use a bit of love to repair some minor items: some floor tiles were damaged, a facette would leave some water to leak, some tile joint would need to be repaired in a bathroom, etc. Nothing major.

The Place to make you forget Home!!!
Scott could not have done more to make this property feel like home. His selection of support staff is great. They were very helpful and conducted themselves in a friendly but professional manner. As a Real Estate Broker, my opinion of the staff is NONE Better. Kent was always quick to respond when contacted. He did and exceptional job of arranging transportation to get us to the home upon arrival. His attitude is exceptional and was very positive always. Charmaine was very pleasant and professional. She maintained the home in an immaculately clean condition. She was helpful in giving us information about the island and its history.
It was was a joy to be there and really did not want to leave. We are Looking forward to returning again in the near future.
Thanks for the helping us make wonderful memories and friends.

Wonderful family getaway
Tanglewood was perfect for our 3 generation family vacation to the Bahamas. The home was clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for our week's stay. We appreciated beach towels being furnished and the pool was well used throughout the day. Tanglewood was a great base for our activities and a perfect to just hang out. We cooked most of our meals there, but enjoyed walking to Montagu Gardens for two delicious Bahamian dinners. We really enjoyed the Junkanoo Summer Festival Saturday and Scott was kind enough to tell us to wait until evening to go. The washer and dryer came in very handy and the 5 televisions and game table were good for a little down time after visiting the sights, shopping, snorkeling, and beach activities. The home is close to a grocery store too.
Tanglewood is truly a charming, spacious Bahamian retreat, and although we only saw Charmaine to check in and out, and 3 mornings, she was welcoming, warm, and gracious. Thank you Scott, Kent and Charmaine.

Spacious but run down and rough
We loved the location of this home! We specifically wanted to rent a home that had four bedrooms so that our group could stay together in one location. However, I was disappointed with the state of the house when we arrived. It was very clean but run down and not maintained the best. The pictures do not reflect this. Out of the four bathrooms, all the showers were very slow to drain. The fourth bedroom was disappointing. It was a little smelly, didn't have a closet and was the most run down of all the rooms. The shelving and drawers in the closets in the other bedrooms were not put in well and were loose and falling apart. On a positive note, the owner of the house made sure we had snacks and water upon our arrival which saved us. We arrived on a Sunday and the grocery stores were closed when we got to the house. And I can't say enough good things about Charmagne, the housekeeper. She was absolutely lovely! She came every morning and cleaned for us, did our laundry and cooked us breakfast. She is the nicest person! The AC worked very well and the kitchen is quite large. We did have an issue with large roaches in the kitchen, but that was our fault for leaving a dirty dish in the sink.

Wonderful Family Vacation in Nassau
Our Grandmother always wanted to go to the Bahamas, so we (grandchildren) decided this was the year to show her the Caribbean.
While booking our stay, Scott and Wendy were responsive to our messages. They answered all of our questions and offered suggestions on things to do. About a month before our arrival date, they sent us an additional message to see if we had any other questions and offered to book our travel to/from the airport through Cheryl's Taxi.
As we pulled up the house, our family was ecstatic about the beautiful property and we were graciously welcomed by Charmaine Lockhart (housekeeper). As others have mentioned, Charmaine is one of the nicest people you could ever meet in your life. Countless times during the vacation, Charmaine offered suggestions on places to see and things to do. Additionally, she was always cheerful and genuinely cared about you.
Fresnell "Shorty" Joseph is the caretaker and lives in a separate residence on the property. We did not have much interaction with him during our stay, but he was also a warm personality.
The house is incredible. There is a gigantic deck in the backyard with a pool, lounge chairs, and grill. Inside, everything is spacious and clean. The rooms all have their own bathrooms, ceiling fans, and televisions.
There is a shopping center to the west of Shirley Street (0.621 miles or 1 km) that has the following:
Grocery Store
Liquor Store
Domino's Pizza
Dairy Queen
Starbucks
Clothing Stores
Paradise Island is about 1.62 miles (2.6 km) from the property. If you have no problem walking 5 miles (8 km) a day, then just about everything is accessible. Otherwise, car rentals are available, local buses cost $1.25 (USD) per person, and taxi cabs are everywhere.
To Eat:
Montagu Gardens restaurant
Poop Deck
Luicianos
Lukka Kairi Restaurant
Oh Andros
To Do:
Straw Market
Queen's Staircase
Reel Dreams Sports Fishing Charters
Blue Lagoon Island
Rose Island Snorkeling
Atlantis on Paradise Island
Beaches:
Cabbage Beach
Montague Beach
Junkanoo Beach
Thank you so much Scott, Wendy, Charmaine, and Fresnell for making our stay at the Bahamas a fantastic one. I would recommend the Tanglewood to anyone looking to get away, but prefers the comforts of a house. When we are able, we will definitely be returning in the future.

Great house, lovely housekeeper, not the best area
We loved the house. Pool was great. The kitchen could use some new pans. Internet was spotty but the owner had it fixed. The area is not walking distance to anything. Downtown Nassau is more bars that have some wear on them but that's 2 miles away. You need to head to Paradise for a nice area. Scuba at Stuart Coves is awesome but that's 45 to 60 min drive depending on the time of day. The house is awesome though. Very comfortable and spacious.
When you walk into Scott's home you are instantly impressed. This lovely home is situated about one mile east of the downtown Nassau area. Charmaine, the housekeeper, was super helpful.
Hot water wasn't available when we arrived. Charmaine and Kent (property manager) fixed it within 40 minutes of our phone call.
Super stay.
We'll be back!
We had an awesome stay over the holidays. The property itself was fantastic. The beds are so comfy we bought a new mattress set when we returned home. The 4th bedroom is an add on off of the kitchen through the laundry room. However, my son loved his own private area away from the upstairs bedrooms. The staircase can be a little tricky as it's a spiral staircase.
The house is full of technology amenities such as sonos players throughout the house and patios, high speed internet, and nice flat screens. The location is close to a shopping center and the beach.
My only complaint is that We rented over the holidays from Christmas Eve until the day after New Years and the house keeper only came 4 times in 9 days because of the holiday schedule. However, the house was stocked with plenty of fresh towels and linens. We even enjoyed the embroidered robes. We were also luck enough to have the services of Chef Perry Sweeting which made the trip outstanding. His team did a fantastic job preparing meals, serving them, and cleaning the kitchen and dishes afterwards.
Very nice property and I would stay here again.
