Bienville House was comfortable, fairly quiet being just outside of noisy areas but only a few minutes walk to the busy French Quarter area. The only drawback was there was no breakfast available.

Update as of check out: I once again asked for a fan due to the room temperature, this time I was met with a very friendly receptionist that had the fan up in 3 minutes. Also while checking out the informed me they would be comping part of our trip due to inconvenience and the receptionist was very nice and apologetic. The whole experience was overall neutral but I'm glad that they addressed the issues and made an attempt to fix it. Rating changed from 1 star to 3. PROS -Rooms are clean and kept up by staff daily. -Bathrooms are modern but as many others have said there's very low water pressure. -Beds are EXTREMELY comfortable -Location is great, others complained about loud music all night, we didn't experience that at all. Only other bad was the pool, it's filthy and not very well maintained. Don't come expecting to use it. We've been to New Orleans a dozen times, we've stayed at some of the smallest hotels, all the way to the larger chains, this was by far the worst stay we've ever had. It was quite literally 1 thing after another. After initially booking us in the wrong room they blew up my phone while I was out on the town all evening. They then forced us to pack up and move on the second day of our trip, offering no compensation or even apology for their complete screw up. (I was offered to receive a call from the manager that I initially ignored). On day 3 of our trip we called to request a fan because the room they moved us to doesn't allow you to turn the thermost

Great hotel!

We had a lovely stay in New Orleans this week. The historic hotel is very centrally located. Our room was beautiful and had a great bed and beautiful courtyard. Will definitely book here again if we return to NOLA.

This was my husband and I’s first time visiting NOLA and I researched places to stay extensively before choosing Bienville House. I was a little worried after booking because there were many not so great reviews popping up, but there was no other place around in our budget that would meet our needs, so I just kept the booking hoping for the best. It ended up being a decent stay and we did not encounter many of the negatives mentioned in reviews, but there are definitely some areas that could be improved upon. Pros * Quick check in an hour early with no fee. Staff were friendly enough. * Clean room with old charm and updated bathroom. * Comfortable bed * Mini fridge in room was a plus since I could not find it listed on any of the included room amenities and I like to have one. * Walking distance to anywhere in the French quarter, but far enough away from the craziness of Bourbon St. * Hot water takes a bit to heat up, but it does get hot and it was still hot after a long shower. Cons * You hear every little noise and most people aren’t considerate of that fact. We did not have any major issues during our stay, but if you get noisy neighbors, then it’s going to be bad. * Pool was dirty and looked unusable. I have seen many bad reviews about the pool, so you would think they would make it a priority to resolve any issues with it. * you can’t adjust the temperature in the room. * No information about anything was given at check in. We did not get to stay at The Famous Bienville because their HVAC system went down. They arranged accommodations for us at Hotel Monteleone. Very fair comparison. Nice place. Thank you to The Bienville for being so caring for our trip.

Location is great! French quarter and Business district are very walkable! The room was great with the exception of the shower head being a rain shower head-these are awful for ladies that do not wash our hair daily! The front desk staff is competent but absolutely not friendly. No smiles, ne real greeting, it was like being checked in by a computer.
