The property is great and easily accessible to everyrhing you want to do in NOLA. The downer for us was the lack of a fridge and microwave or onsite vending machine to get cold drinks.

We stayed in room 220 a balcony room. The room was very clean and nice however the window coverings were very thin and the light from the street made it very difficult to sleep. No where to sit other than the bed and a small desk chair. There was room for another chair in the corner. Also there was only one night stand when there was room for two small ones on either side of the bed. Lastly some sort of shelf in the bathroom is needed so someone can put their toiletries in the bathroom. I understand that they are trying to keep the hotel as authentic as possible but I don’t feel that these added things will take away from the experience. The curtains definitely need to be addressed. Some type of blackout shade behind the curtain on the door to the balcony is needed. Also the transom windows above the doors had no curtains at all. Not good.

Small but great location

Location was perfect and the staff were friendly and attentive. We were able to walk quickly to everything. Rooms were tiny and walls are very thin, but for the amount of time we spent in the room it was all we needed. Would have been nice to have a closet or even a bar to hang some items. Also if you are on the first floor, you are street level so the window shade needs to be pulled. Would have been nice to have a sheer or the the shade went from bottom up ... Anyway those were my negatives. Very clean and the pool area was very relaxing. I would stay again, knowing how small the rooms were.

Do not recommend!

Unfortunately, the room we received was terrible. It was like a basement with a musty smell. We were only there long enough to grab our bags and leave. Front desk was of no help! They just told us we would be charged for a days stay!

What we liked: The hotel staff was amazing. It was walkable to almost everything you'd want from the French Quarter. It was quiet until about 8 a.m. (this was on a Saturday). This is where what we didn't like started: People were working on something in our hallway and were SO loud! We kept trying to go back to sleep but couldn't. Either the doors need to be thicker, or there needs to be "Quiet in the Hall, Please" signs. People just walking down the hall chatting sounded like they were in our room. We also didn't care for the smell out in the hall (the room smelled fine), but we were on the second floor, and the room smelled like dank, old mold. I'm sure it had to do with Hurricane Katrina and Ida, but considering the room and the rest of the hotel smelled fine, I felt like the hallway could've been remediated as well. Anyway, overall, it was a great choice with regard to price and location, but if you stay there, bring earplugs!

Hotel

The location was good, but the only problem I have with the hotel it’s very noisy from the traffic going by. Since the rooms are located in a courtyard you have people going by your room at all hours of the night.

Property is walkable to everything & staff was very friendly. Elaine at the front desk was very sweet & very helpful with answering all our questions about things to do & places to eat. FYI-there is no elevator, so if needed request a first floor room.

Great property. No elevators if you have trouble walking. Not a problem for us. Staff could not have been nicer. We were getting out of the taxi and the person at the front desk came out and got our luggage and took it to our room. We will be staying there again

In the French Quarter -- we would stay there again

Right in the heart of the French Quarter, 2 blocks from Bourbon Street, and within just a few more blocks of everything else we wanted to see, we did not use our car for the entire 3 days we were there! No breakfast at the hotel, but breakfast restaurants within 2 blocks also. The pool was clean and secluded but secure, and parking was in a gated alcove that was locked at night. The room was "cozy", meaning slightly cramped, but I could bring a chair in from the balcony to watch TV or read, or leave them out on the balcony over the street. Staff was all very friendly and helpful, even carried our bags up the stairs, and would have carried them back down the stairs had we asked. The shower was over-sized, and the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly. The hotel was also about 6 blocks from Frenchmen Street, which is where the locals hang out (Bourbon Street is the tourist location). Everything in NOLA is expensive, but we were prepared for that. Even on the day it rained, we could walk around and hardly get wet because so many sidewalk areas have balconies over them. If we visit the French Quarter again, we would definitely strongly consider this hotel again. The only drawbacks we saw were the extra cost of parking, (about the same price as street parking overnight but more secure), and the lack of an elevator for getting to the second floor.
