bon accueil

A proximitĂ© du Quartier Français et de Frenchmen Street, facile d'accĂšs. Le soir, nous avons Ă©tĂ© malheureusement importunĂ©s par un SDF prĂšs de Washington Square, en rentrant. Jolie maison trĂšs bien entretenue et trĂšs bon accueil du gentil propriĂ©taire qui a bien voulu qu'on s'installe avant 15 h car on est arrivĂ© trop tĂŽt et qui a appelĂ© un taxi pour nous le dernier jour. Excellent petit dĂ©jeuner. Nous Ă©tions dans la chambre 204, nous l'avons trouvĂ©e quand mĂȘme trop petite et un peu sombre dans la journĂ©e. La nuit, en revanche la lumiĂšre du couloir filtre Ă  travers la porte et la climatisation du couloir est vraiment trop bruyante. Nous avons beaucoup apprĂ©ciĂ© la baignoire jacuzzi qui dĂ©tend aprĂšs les longues marches dans NOLA.

HĂŽtel trĂšs bien situĂ©, proche du french quarter et de Frenchmen street (oĂč on trouve les meilleurs club de jazz). L'accueil est dĂ©contractĂ© et on vous laisse vivre votre vie, ce qui n'est pas dĂ©sagrĂ©able. L'ambiance relĂšve plus de l'hĂŽtel que du bed and breakfast.

Lovely B&B a short walk from Frenchmen Street

Great facility very well run. We enjoyed breakfast a lot and relaxing with other guests on both front and back porches. About 4 blocks to excellent music and pubs on Frenchmen Street with the French Market and the riverfront just beyond. Location works best if you enjoy walking. Note that it's about 6-8 steps up from the curb to the first floor and another 22 stairs to the second floor. The street is a bit noisy with traffic, so if you're a light sleeper you might prefer a high rise hotel.

So glad we stayed here! The house is beautiful, clean, and quiet. I enjoyed it more than a hotel. Plus it was in a cool area and very easy to walk to Frenchmen Street. The hosts were kind and helpful!

Amazing hidden gem!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience! This charming B&B was right by our favorite restaurants and bar,is gorgeous and incredibly well maintained. The owners are so nice and chill - they made us feel so welcome the whole time, and the breakfasts were delicious! Definitely will be booking another stay here in the future!

The best Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans!!!!

So many wonderful things to say about our stay that there are to many to list!!! This is a must stay if you visit New Orleans!!!!! The host are wonderful and welcoming! The room was inviting, comfortable and cozy! The breakfast in the mornings just topped off the amazing experience! We will be staying again!

Fabulous breakfast and great location

We had a wonderful experience at the Elysian Fields Inn. The owners Michelle and Bob were gracious, super friendly and forthcoming with info about things to do in the area. The breakfast was exceptional and gourmet. One day was delicious pancakes and sausage, the next was fabulous shrimp and grits, with berry fruit bowls each day. They are accomodating of dietary restrictions. The room was very clean, elegantly decorated and updated, and the bed was very comfortable with high end bedding. The building was a nice historic home that was spotlessly kept and spacious. It was just a few blocks from famous Frenchmen Street with the great Jazz clubs, and the French Quarter. Parking was on the street but we always found a spot within a block (a private spot is available but not for regular access to your car). The neighborhood felt relatively safe, but like any big city you'd probably want to be a little careful if you were walking around late at night in a non-touristy area. Being in a busy area there was a bit of traffic noise in our room which faced the street, but it was not bad. Overall the place was pretty quiet. There was a nice back deck overlooking the neighborhood. We loved our stay and would definitely return! Great value for being so close to the French Quarter.

Birthday Getaway

This was a getaway for my birthday. The owners brought out a donut with a candle & sang Happy Birthday to me. They were lovely people!! I'd highly recommend staying here.

Lovely place to stay in the heart of Marigny

Charming B&B off Frenchmen's Street close enough to the French Quarter, but far enough to get away from the craziness. In the heart of the funky Marigny neighborhood and walking distance from the Bywater as well. The owners were absolutely lovely and cooked breakfast every morning. Met people from all over the world and basically had a great experience over all. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family for future visits!

Perfect B&B

Really enjoyed our weekend at Elysian Fields Inn. Safely parked car away for the weekend and biked or walked the area. Room was clean and cozy. The hostesses Michelle & Bob were so nice and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing. Will definitely stay here in the future and suggest to all our friends.

Review with an expiration date

We enjoyed a fantastic four-day weekend at the Elysian Fields Inn. I could go on and on about the accommodations, the friendliness of the hosts (and their dog), their knowledge of the city and the excellence of their cooking, BUT the Inn has been sold, and none of those things will have any meaning in a couple of weeks. The new owners will be taking possession in August (I believe the 5th is their first night). I'll be anxious to read the reviews under the new management, because those things that will remain the same are the reason I'll look here first the next time I book a trip to New Orleans: It's a very short and entertaining walk down Frenchmen Street to the French Quarter. Even in July, it went quickly enough that the heat wasn't too oppressive. There's a FANTASTIC community eatery, the St. Roch Market, just a couple of blocks away. 8-10 restaurants under a single roof, with a menu variety you have to see to believe (check Yelp for reviews). There was ample free parking (great because we drove in), and a Walgreens just up the street.
