My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! Darryl was very friendly and informative when checking us in and throughout our stay. The breakfast included a mystery main (made to order crepes and quiche during our stay), assorted breads, cereals, lemon loaf, and some meats and cheeses as well as coffee, juice, and tea. All of which was very good! Beatrix and Kathy were both super pleasant and made delicious food. The location was great as it was just a trolley ride to canal and bourbon, the museums, and a walk away from the shops and restaurants in garden. The houses were all older and charming. Of course with that being said, they are also less nice than staying at a newer hotel. For me, I loved the architecture and design the Fairchild offered and that was a huge plus for staying in NOLA. Especially for the price point. We would and will stay here again!
Was a very easy and nice place to stay just outside the touristy hotspots. The trolly takes you right into French Quarter and it takes about ~10m. The breakfast was great, convenient and cutely done. The owner is really friendly and helped us orientate us to the city. There is on site parking but I would have felt safe parking on the street. I would love to stay if I visit that part of the states again.
Interaction with personnel offered something above and beyond. Facilities were below standard with makeshift efforts. Value question depends on what the comparison is. For my wallet the price was expensive for what the below standard element. If compared to NOLA hotel prices - well, that's the only way this was an cost effective place to stay.
What a disappointment considering reviews online. Properties are old and dilapidated and smell when you get inside. Room was drab although bed was comfortable and sheets and towels were clean. Small toilets squeezed into a small bathroom. Gatekeeper was cordial but talked to us as if we were 3rd graders. One bright side was the breakfast! Beautiful fresh fruit, cereals, sliced ham and good cheddar cheese and much more.
I love staying in the Garden District, where you can use the streetcars and don't need a rental car.
The location is excellent; the staff is friendly to a fault; the breakfast each morning is outstanding.
Know in advance, it's an old, historic building. (That's what I like about it.) But, it's not a Holiday Inn. If that's what you prefer, stay there instead... but you're missing out on an authentic New Orleans experience.
Love the surrounding atmosphere great places to go and eat drink music. Not to far from my familyâs home, probably could have bigger TVâs could barley watch them. All in all great place!!!
We would definitely stay here again. The location is very convenient for access to what you want to see in New Orleans. The site has free parking. There are several restaurants in walking distance and the stop for the cable car to Canal and Bourbon down St Charles is nearby. The host welcomes everyone with genuine hospitality. The breakfast area is nice and we spent the mornings meeting some of the other guests from around the country. The breakfast selections are nice. The property and three buildings are from the 1800âs so this isnât a shiny new Hampton Inn. But the property is in very good shape. Our room was quiet, access in and out was easy with a gate key and room key. The host contacted us to be sure someone was there to meet us on our arrival.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our hosts Beatrice and Darrell and the location was perfect for easy access to the French Quarter and downtown. The beds were a little tired but we otherwise all was wonderful. Thanks for a great stay!!
