The bedrooms are set over two floors, ideal for those who enjoy some ground floor facilities. Set in a lovely small private development it is one of four detached properties on an exclusive plot. With easy access to the coast at Whitley Bay, which is just 6 miles away, with a wonderful promenade where you can eat an ice lolly or eat fish and chips, a real seaside treat. Also close by is Newcastle city centre with lots of amenities and transport links nearby.

Forest Close is an excellent place to stay if you fancy a trip to the racecourse at Gosforth Park at just 3 miles away.

Located on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Newcastle, it an ideal property for business or pleasure, and its a fabulous place to visit. Benton itself has some lovely places to eat and you are not far from a selection of shops and cafés. Visit the famous Quayside and stroll over the Millennium Bridge while taking in the view towards the iconic Tyne Bridge. The road network is fantastic and will take you off in all directions. Whether you want to go to the coast, or perhaps a visit to Hadrian’s Wall, there is so much to see and do here you will find it hard to fit it all in. If you want to travel further afield, why not visit Tynemouth just 7 miles away, with a vast array of restaurants, bars, pretty shops, the Abbey and a beach. Beach 6½ miles.

Family holiday

The property was large and was a good base to use being about 20 minutes from a beach and about 10 minutes walk from a park with swings etc for the grandchildren. It was about 5 minutes drive from an Aldi and Lidl.

The beds were spotless and very comfortable, and the place was overall pretty clean, except that we had to wash a lot of things in the kitchen before we could use them. It was fairly well equipped but several things didn't work so well - poor shower pressure, lack of hot water, for example. Little improvements would make a big difference, such as locks on the bathroom doors and hooks to hang up dressing gowns. When we arrived there were four rubbish bags in the lobby that had not been collected. This left an unpleasant aroma and we were woken early on our first morning so someone could collect them. One room also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Second morning was disrupted by someone noisily cutting the grass, unannounced. But the location was relatively peaceful, lots of trees, birds, a field with horses down the lane. Suburban, not far from metro stop and buses into centre. Also, quick trip to beaches on metro, so excellent location. In all, a mixed bag, run by helpful people.
