Newport Harbor Island Resort was awesome! We let the resort know that we were celebrating our honeymoon and they upgraded us to a suite, free of charge. We had a gorgeous room with an incredible view of the harbor, and were greeted with champagne, chocolates, and a very nice note from the hotel staff. The

Newport is an absolute dream for a quick getaway. This hotel was amazing from cleanliness to the beautiful views in the property. The water shuttle was amazing - great views and quick and easy to get to the wharf and to walk around Thames st without the hassle of driving and looking for parking. Will be coming back!

The room was clean and comfortable, however it was very overpriced for the accommodation considering the view from the room was a parking lot and section of roof. The shower was only partially usable as there was minimal water pressure.

I thought the staff was not very hospitable and the resort did everything they can do to price gauge their guests including $6 coffee and $6 dollars to refill my coffee. Room service not available at times and lot's of dirty dishes in the hallways for 24 hours. Lot's of taxes and additional fees not specified until check out including $45 dollar valet to park your car p/night. Being fair, the shuttle service was the best part of the experience. We had a great stay at the Newport Harbour Island Resort. It’s a great location close to everything but fabulous ocean and bridge view. The outside decks, seating and pool and bar areas were terrific. Lots of room to relax on grass and plenty if nice chairs along the water front to sit and relax in. The food and service was excellent.

Atmosphere was great, good views & convenient to Newport. Only a few staff were friendly, most not helpful frowned upon us booking through an outside source and tried up charging to extend our stay.

Its a nice resort, in a great location. What I however do not like - and it seems a trend - is charging these “resort fees”. As you do not have an option, why not include it in the room price as its misleading not to so. In my view the “complimentary shuttle, bike rental etc, is not complimentary at all.
