Old Town Charm With Modern Amenities Steps To Downtown
In the Heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake
The Flynn House is situated steps away from the quaint downtown Queen Street area where you will find world class restaurants, the Shaw Festival and local boutiques. It is also conveniently located near some of Ontarioâs most famous wineries.
It was built in the 1860's by George Flynn (a shoemaker) for his family and later during World War II, it was the meeting place for the Knights of Columbus. Rich in history, the home has recently been restored to feature modern amenities while maintaining the propertyâs old world charm such as wide plank floors and French doors.
The Flynn House sleeps up to 8 people and features two full bathrooms and one powder room with a sink and toilet, four bedrooms, a large dining room and living room and a fully equipped kitchen.
We offer a smoke-free, pet-free environment. All towels and linens are included. Open year-round.
Looking for something more quaint? You made be interested in our sister property - The Swinton Cottage - located just a few blocks away.
The house was very nice, old but well taken care of. The location is ideal, walking distance from everything. Kitchen was well equiped (we would need a nice frying pan for steaks, only antiadhesives ones)
The beds were confortable, linens were perfect and clean.
Now for the negatives : we were 6 adults and a small baby, 5 chairs outside, 5 coffee mugs. The chairs in the dining room were falling apart and a high chair would have been nice too.
Nevertheless, we would go back, it was a nice stay.
Definitely old-world charm. Super comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchen, including French press. Steps away from Queen Street & the river.@ 10 minutes' drive to multiple wineries. Highly recommend this house.
Family from Toronto, California and Nova Scotia stayed here for a family Celebration of Life. Florida family stayed down the street. The location was wonderful, the house was great and it was perfect for our weekend to celebrate the life of Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma.
We live in the US and had family visiting from Ireland who wanted to see Niagara Falls. There is an Irish restaurant right across the street from the property and we had a spectacular time there the first night. The house itself is historic and charming and the beds were super comfortable. Its location is so close and an easy walking distance to the wonderful shops in the area.My only negative comment would probably be that, although there's a coffee maker, there was no coffee, just a drawer filled with tea. There are no amenities to speak of so you need to bring everything you might need. There's also a small grocery store within walking distance, which was our first order of business upon arriving. We would definitely stay there again!*** We didn't go to any of the wineries but this review insists that you rate your experience.
Our family of has attended the Shaw Festival for many years. In the last 2 years we have grown into a group of 5 adults and so finding a rental house within walking distance of all the theatres and restaurants and shops on Queen Street was ideal. The house was - as described - large and comfortable - 4 bedrooms- 2 complete bathrooms and 1 water closet. After the evening show we would gather in the dining room to discuss the performances. It allowed us to interact as a group without being cramped into a tiny space. We would love to return another Season.
Very cute and cozy home. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped but lacked any saran wrap. The dinning room chairs needed repair
Rchairsbut the chairs werer butcga
We have stayed in many different homes in NOTL but this is the gem!
The homeowner was always accessible and responded quickly. The house was a perfect size for our family and the yard was ideal for our young grandsons to play and run. We did not need to drive once we parked our cars as the shopping and amazing theaters were steps away. We will definitely be returning!
The house and property was beautiful - online listing 100% accurate (I would even say nicer in person!). It was a breeze communicating with the property manager. For downtown NOTL, the location is amazing. We stayed as a family for a wedding, and the house comfortably sleeps 8 (4 couples, though only one king bed). The only, very minor, issue was getting ready for the wedding - not enough mirrors for the females! But all in all, a wonderful place and our stay was great!
When we arrived we were supposed to call for the code they didn't answer went to an outdated answering machine.Aftet I contacted VRBO and tried again they answered.Onece we entered the home it has an old musty moldy smell probably due to the outside maintenance being so poorly. We did not have WiFi after contacting the owner and staying on the phone over a half an hour they told us we will need to be there between 11-4 the next day to get it fixed and that wasn't happening and the owner wasn't going to meet them either so we had no Internet during our stay.I texted the owner told them the master sink was clogged the stove vent didn't work upstairs tub didn't hold water and garbage can was broken but they didn't seem to care because they sent no one to fix it.
This is my third time staying in the Flynn house for a friendâs getaway and it did not disappoint. The house is beautiful, location is amazing and check-in is a breeze. We hope to come back again next year!
Very good location, close to main strip. Check-in and communication with host was very smooth. The house has nice charm and was well maintained. The bedrooms were spacious but quite bright - could perhaps benefit from some room darkening shades (especially since we were travelling with small kids who nap during the day). The hood to the gas stove was broken during our stay, part was on order. Otherwise kitchen was well stocked. Overall we had a very nice stay :)
This is an absolutely charming home. The kitchen is very well equipped (glassware, pots/pans/knives/utensils, etc.). The bedrooms are spacious, and the beds were very comfortable (medium-firm) - with lots of extra blankets and pillows. The bathrooms were all very clean, and the showers had great water pressure, and there were soaps and shampoo/conditioner included. The photos accurately portray the rooms. This is a keeper.
