Beachfront Cottage with 50 Mile Ocean View and Pool Access
This charming cottage is perched on a high dune above a spectacular pink sand beach. Walk down the wooden stairway onto a miles-long deserted beach with postcard-perfect turquoise water. A barrier reef offshore keeps the surf modest, so this is a very safe and swimmable beach.
âOn the Duneâ comes with full access to the small and quiet Unique Village resort, less than a one-minute walk from the cottage, which features an ocean front pool, restaurant, and bar.
On the Dune has two bedrooms and two bath. It has a full kitchen with refrigerator, range, oven, microwave, and sink. Enjoy a beverage on your private deck overlooking the beach and ocean, or walk over to Unique Village for a meal or drinks. Unique's restaurant serves three meals a day.
Amenities in the cottage include air conditioning and super-fast Starlink internet!
The town of Palmetto Point is just half a mile away, a one-minute drive or a ten-minute walk. Palmetto Point is home to the popular Mate and Jenny's restaurant, as well as several stores. Tippy's beachfront restaurant is a 5 minute drive. A ten minute drive takes you into Governors Harbor, the main town on the island. Governors Harbor has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster most afternoons from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbor has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbor, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.
Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 11000 residents, is known for its friendliness and safety. Visitors enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving their keys in the car. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, jet skis, scooters, and bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. You ride horses on the beach or on trails. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore.
The house was clean inside and had plenty of dishes and pots and pans to cook and . Bedding was nice and comfortable.
The beach wouldâve been nice, but it was windy every day and the waves were way too high for the children to play in the water so we had to go to another beach every day in order to get in the water.
Iâm thinking most likely it was due to hurricane Milton going through Florida while we were there at The Dunes. The stairs going down to the beach need a little attention. There are some boards that are kind of scary and a couple of places and some has overgrown where you have to duck to get down the stairs. But overall, we had a nice stay.
This house was perfect. Great ocean views on a huge beach. Good central location a few minutes from Governorâs Harbor. Large kitchen and living spaces. A really charming house with plenty of cooling for hot days. Highly recommend.
The cottage is a comfortable size for two couples, the two bedrooms with there own bathrooms are identical to each other. The kitchen works well, we made breakfast every morning and cooked a few dinners. The beach was great and super private, the location of the cottage made it easy to explore a lot of the island and other beaches, would definitely stay again.
Fully equipped cottage with two identical bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms. Air conditioning and flat-screen tv's in every room. Located on a bluff overlooking the ocean (52 steps to beach). Patio facing ocean.
Our first time to Eleuthera and we absolutely loved it!! The villa was clean and in a perfect location central to everything on the island. We enjoyed our beach walks in the mornings and the view from the deck was amazing. We will hopefully be returning in the fall.
The house was very clean, and the view and beach access out your front door was amazing. Miles of unoccupied beach with super soft sand. Beautiful blue water as far as you could see.
quiet surrounding and easy access to the main road.
The beach was great to walk for miles on everyday and never see anyone, the shoreline is covered in garbage. The water was amazing, steps up and down to the beach (51, I think) were easy enough. The property itself seems a little run down. The trail to the empty restaurant was overgrown and they didn't spray for the bugs at all. The pool was dirty most of the time and don't try to get cozy on the lawn chairs, because you wont - or the beds for that matter.
The food at the restaurant was nice, service, not so much. It appeared someone didn't like their job. At least we meet up with some really great folks from Switzerland and made our stay great. Miss you two!!!
make sure to get a quote from taxi driver before you go, but Dr. Seabreeze was a hoot!
